Actress Ali Larter recently posted some exclusive photos from the production of the second season, as filming for the acclaimed Paramount+ series “Landman” continues. Created by Taylor Sheridan, who is renowned for his work on “Yellowstone”, the show made its debut last November and welcomed Billy Bob Thornton into the role of Tommy Norris, a top executive at M-Tex, a Texas oil company in crisis management. The first season garnered widespread appreciation from both viewers and critics, leading to the announcement that “Landman” will indeed return for a second season. In this upcoming season, Larter is expected to reprise her role as Tommy’s former spouse, Angela Norris, along with many other characters who graced our screens in the first installment.
On Instagram, Larter recently posted a series of five fresh snapshots from the set of Landman season 2. The initial picture captures Larter seated on a vibrant jib lift wearing a dress, while the second image showcases Thornton dressed in a suit jacket amidst a bedroom brimming with crew members. The fourth photograph finds Larter sitting beside Michelle Randolph and Thornton, followed by another of Larter posing with James Jordan, who plays Dale, and Jacob Lofland, portraying Cooper. Lastly, the carousel concludes with a shot of Larter and Randolph together in a vehicle. Take a peek at Larter’s post below:
“A little BTS of Season 2, baby,” Larter writes in her caption, “Love this cast.”

When The New Episodes Could Arrive
It seems challenging to identify significant plot developments from the recently released images, but they do indicate that efforts are being made to resume the show promptly after the Landman season 1 finale. The finale was aired on January 12, and a renewal for season 2 was announced in March. Given that filming is currently underway, it’s likely that Landman season 2 will debut either towards the end of 2025 or early 2026. However, an official announcement about the premiere date hasn’t been made yet.
The swiftness with which Paramount managed to produce season 2 of “Landman” suggests the immense popularity of the show. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series boasts a commendable 78% rating from critics. However, the audience-driven Popcornmeter score is slightly lower at 62%. Despite this, viewership for the series has been robust. In December, it was disclosed that “Landman” had broken records as the most-watched original series on Paramount+, with a staggering 14.9 million households tuning in during the show’s first four weeks of release.

Angela Is A Crucial Supporting Character
Although Thornton’s character Tommy takes center stage in the Landman production, it’s clear that the larger group of actors contributes significantly to the show’s popularity. While Tommy’s narrative is engaging, it’s the side characters who bring depth and richness to the storyline. Larter’s character and Randolph’s Ainsley are examples of such figures, as they provide stability for Tommy while simultaneously adding tension to his life.
Despite the success of Landman‘s first season, it remains uncertain if the second season can replicate its success. The user score on Rotten Tomatoes might indicate a potential decrease in viewership. However, given that anything associated with Sheridan tends to draw a large audience, regardless of quality, there’s a good chance that more details about Landman season 2 will surface as filming continues.
