Alien: Paradiso Comic Series Sees Xenomorphs Invading a Luxury Resort

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of immersion in the realm of science fiction and horror, I can confidently say that the upcoming comic series “Alien: Paradiso” has piqued my interest like no other. The concept of xenomorphs terrorizing a luxury resort instead of the usual military outposts or laboratories is not only intriguing but also a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

Starting from the debut of the Alien franchise in 1979, the series has introduced the frightening xenomorphs into a variety of unnerving settings. However, with the impending comic series titled Alien: Paradiso, these fearsome creatures will encounter what could be their most vulnerable prey yet. Instead of fleeing from a lab or military base, or confronting Colonial Marines, the xenomorphs will overrun a lavish resort. The upcoming series maintains the concept of an assorted group of individuals needing to collaborate to outsmart and endure these horrifying beings. Alien: Paradiso is set to arrive on shelves on December 11th.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over how Steve Foxe, the writer, is steering the Alien franchise towards its original essence. His intent is clear: to deliver an unparalleled story that readers won’t find anywhere else. By placing our narrative on the sun-drenched beaches of a luxury resort teeming with shady criminals, covert marshals, and hardworking but underpaid staff, he’s taking us in a fresh, intriguing direction.

He continued, “But as someone who considers Alien perhaps the most perfect film of all time, I hewed very close to the fundamentals of what I found so horrifying in the first place: a small group of people out of their depth, stalked by an unknowable threat in a contained location. [Artists] Edgar [Salazar], Peter [Nguyen], and I are working to bring you the Alien you know, love, and fear, but in a way you’ve never seen before. Pull up a beach chair and watch out for the acid splash.”

According to the press release, “Alien: Paradiso” is set to offer fans an unprecedented glimpse into a new facet of the “Alien” universe. In this installment, the universe’s most lethal organism finds a veritable feast in a luxurious resort. However, these vacationers are hardly blameless, and as the xenomorph turns this idyllic setting into a slaughterhouse, the familiar themes of corruption, greed, and terror that have been hallmarks of “Alien” narratives resurface. An intriguing twist is introduced in this series, with each issue featuring special pages drawn by Nguyen, providing readers with a unique perspective – that of the xenomorph as it stalks its terrified prey!

Hey there! Step into Paradiso, a cosmic oasis where wealth gushes like lifeblood and danger pulses like venom. This celestial Tulum is a rare pearl among the colonies, boasting a balmy climate, pristine beaches, and an extraordinary crowd of interstellar tycoons with shady pasts. When I got assigned to bust a smuggling operation here alongside Dash Nanda and Lydia Reeves, it felt like hitting the jackpot. But luck’s a fickle thing in this place; only those ravenous enough to seize what they desire are truly fortunate.

2017 marked the latest big-screen installment for the franchise, “Alien: Covenant”. Since then, the essence of the series has been continued in numerous comic book adaptations, delving into different eras within the universe. Additionally, fans have been presented with “Aliens: What If…?”, a storyline that imagines a scenario where Paul Reiser’s Carter Burke survives the events depicted in “Aliens”.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement after the triumphant success of ‘Romulus’ earlier this year, both critically and financially. This achievement seems to have rekindled interest in the franchise, hinting at potential further explorations of its mythology. Marvel’s confirmation that an ‘Alien: Romulus’ prequel comic is scheduled for release later this year only fuels my anticipation, suggesting more captivating stories from this universe may be on the horizon.

Alien: Paradiso is set to hit shelves on December 11th.
