The image he shared of a phone booth, its “EMERGENCY” sign illuminated in bold red letters, immediately took me back to my childhood, when I would watch late-night sci-fi movies and feel an adrenaline rush every time the iconic “help” symbol appeared on screen.
In the survival-horror video game “Alien: Isolation” from 2014, the Emergency phone box functions as a saving spot. This detail was recognized by many players right away. Affirming this, Alvarez made an entertaining remark: “Bravo to those who pointed out: Things are about to get intense.”
Through their engagement, it became clear to supporters that Fede Alvarez not only put in great effort to delve deeper into the Alien series but also possesses a strong background in gaming.
New discoveries from Other revealed a video depicting a realistic Alien: Romulus colony site, boasting an Easter egg reference to the Hadley’s Hope bar sign seen in James Cameron’s Aliens. Additionally, there was a picture of Alien: Romulus’ spacecraft The Corbelan IV, which replicated the airlock panel identical to the one Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) clung to during her battle against the Xenomorph Queen in Aliens. A significant Easter egg for Uruguayan fans was a photograph of a computer, and a complete model of The Corbelan IV, crafted by renowned VFX designer Ian Hunter (Interstellar, First Man, Inception, Watchmen).

In this sci-fi production titled “Alien: Romulus,” we find Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War,” “Priscilla”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy,” “The Three Musketeers”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone,” “Kingdom”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us,” “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun,” upcoming “A Good Man”), and Aileen Wu gracing our screens.
