As a seasoned gamer and collector of all things film-related, especially when it comes to the Alien franchise, I must say that the recent surge in Blu-ray sales, particularly Steelbooks, has been a breath of fresh air. The Deadpool & Wolverine Steelbooks were a treat, but the Terminator 40th anniversary and Godzilla Minus One 4K Steelbooks sent me into a frenzy! Now, the pre-order for Alien: Romulus 4K Blu-ray Steelbook is upon us, and let me tell you, that cover is downright fantabulous!

It seems that the prediction about the demise of physical media might have been too hasty, as Blu-ray sales have recently seen a surge – particularly for limited edition Steelbooks. The Steelbook versions of Deadpool & Wolverine are flying off the shelves, and releases like the Terminator 40th anniversary and Godzilla Minus One 4K Steelbooks have sold out incredibly quickly. Given this trend, the pre-orders for the Blu-ray release of Alien: Romulus are now open, and the cover of its 4K Steelbook is truly eye-catching.

Currently, you can purchase several versions of Alien: Romulus – the 4K Steelbook edition, standard 4K Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray, and DVD – on Amazon and Walmart respectively. Another Alien Movie on the Way?

Based on the successful theater earnings of the movie, there’s a good chance we’ll see another installment in the series, but no official announcements have been made yet. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Alvarez hinted at the possibility of a Romulus sequel. Although he didn’t actively consider it while making the film, he did ponder potential extensions to the story afterwards.

The director expressed that they have never seen movies as franchises or sequels; instead, their focus has always been on the story itself. They explained that once a story is completed, their team naturally starts wondering about potential continuations, such as what lies beyond Yvaga and whether it’s a wonderful or dreadful place. They believe it could be a terrible place that the characters perceive as great and dream about, which leads them to consider where the story goes next and what happens subsequently. In essence, their initial thoughts often lead to the idea of a sequel.
