Alien TV Series Confirms Official Title

As a long-time fan of the Alien franchise, I’m both excited and intrigued by the announcement of FX’s new series, Alien: Earth. The idea of bringing the Xenomorph threat to our home planet is a bold move that could offer a fresh perspective on this iconic science fiction horror saga.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming FX Alien TV series now has an official Alien: Earth. This title resonates with me since showrunner Noah Hawley, known for his exceptional work on Fargo and Legion, previously hinted that this series would offer a fresh perspective, deviating from the conventional Alien movie format.

An intriguing difference emerges in this context: the Aliens, who introduced the Xenomorph threat to Earth, are distinct from us. Ridley Scott left fans puzzled with his 2010 prequel, Prometheus, which proposed that the Xenomorphs were a biological weapon engineered by an extraterrestrial civilization responsible for seeding life on our planet. The Alien vs. Predator films are the only works where Xenomorphs appeared on Earth, but these crossover productions have generally been panned by fans as uninspired attempts to capitalize on both franchises. In contrast, the primary Alien series has predominantly focused on corporations seeking to acquire samples of the Xenomorphic lifeform – without ever exploring why or how this lifeform initially gained notoriety.

As a longtime fan of the original “Alien” and “Aliens” films by Ridley Scott, I’m both excited and intrigued by the upcoming prequel series created by Noah Hawley for FX. With my heart filled with nostalgia and my mind buzzing with anticipation, I can’t help but share my thoughts on this new endeavor.

After completing the filming stage, Hawley shared with Variety, “I’m now moving onto the extensive post-production phase for this large-scale production. I’m looking forward to having more time to work on the visual effects. The initial stages of a project can be quite pressured, so it’s enjoyable to have some breathing room and explore the cinematic potential.”

John Langraf, head of FX Networks, expressed great excitement about the project and revealed that it is being prioritized over Noah Hawley’s other major FX series, Fargo (Season 6), due to the overwhelming level of interest.

“We’re very optimistic about ‘Alien: Earth’ and have shared with him that if, as we anticipate, ‘Alien: Earth’ comes back as a television show for a second season, we would like him to dedicate his efforts to writing at least two seasons before considering a potential return to ‘Fargo’ for a sixth season.”

Earth’s Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, David Rysdahl, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Babou Ceesay, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, and Di?m Camille, as well as Adrian Edmondson, make up the cast of this alien production.

An iron isn’t just getting hotter, but the Alien franchise is set to come back to cinemas in August with “Alien: Romulus” directed by Fede Alvarez.
