Alien vs. Predator 3 Rumors Addressed by Romulus Director

As a lifelong fan of the Alien and Predator franchises, I can hardly contain my excitement for the latest installment, Alien: Romulus. Having grown up watching these iconic films, I have witnessed the evolution of these terrifying creatures, and the prospect of seeing them clash once again is simply thrilling. The success of this latest film has only fueled my anticipation for a potential third crossover, and the idea of Fede Alvarez and Dan Trachtenberg co-directing a new installment feels like a match made in sci-fi heaven!

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that “Alien: Romulus” is currently gracing theater screens, and it’s making waves! This film, with an impressive 81% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes (the best the franchise has seen in nearly four decades), is not only a hit among critics but also among audiences. The movie’s opening weekend at the box office has been spectacular, and there’s a strong possibility it will surpass $100 million worldwide by the end of this weekend.

As a gamer, I might say: “Dan, the Prey director, and I could tag-team on something like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez did with ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’. Fede ?lvarez, the Alien: Romulus director, hinted at this in an interview. So, it seems like we’re considering a collaborative project where I direct one half and he takes care of the other.”

It’s important to mention that the movie “From Dusk Till Dawn” was penned by Quentin Tarantino and helmed by Robert Rodriguez. While both were involved in the project, Tarantino took on an acting role, but they did not alternate in directing responsibilities. It’s plausible that Alvarez was discussing “Grindhouse,” a double feature consisting of Rodriguez’s film “Planet Terror” and Tarantino’s “Death Proof.” In the year 2005, Tarantino even directed a scene in one of Rodriguez’s other films, titled “Sin City.”

What Is Alien: Romulus About?

The upcoming film, titled “Romulus,” is being marketed as a spin-off rather than a direct sequel in the “Alien” series, and it will feature a group of young space explorers encountering the scariest creature in the cosmos. It was revealed that an earlier scene from James Cameron’s “Aliens” featuring colonists inspired the storyline for Romulus, as shared by its creator, Alvarez.

Initially, I opted for a unique perspective by focusing on characters who aren’t experts or scientists; they’re not even grown adults, he shared. I found this idea intriguing as it places ordinary people at the heart of the narrative, reflecting our own lack of experience with space exploration. When characters are professionals, their knowledge can often exceed ours. However, when they’re young and inexperienced, like being in their early 20s, they’re clueless about operating things as complex as a spacecraft’s airlock.

He went on to explain, “As children, most of them worked together on the same vessel. This was how they first met. They’re extremely close due to being each other’s only family. In many ways, they behave more like foster siblings, with some of them even sharing a household. Many of the film’s main themes revolve around siblinghood and its significance. Interestingly, the larger storyline involving Romulus and Weyland-Yutani is also linked to this familial bond.”

The sci-fi movie titled “Alien: Romulus” features Cailee Spaeny, known for her role as Priscilla, David Jonsson, recognized from Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy, Archie Renaux from Shadow and Bone, Isabela Merced, famous for The Last of Us, Spike Fearn from Aftersun, and Aileen Wu. The film is directed by Fede Alvarez, who has previously worked on Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, and co-written the script with Rodo Sayagues, the duo behind Don’t Breathe 2. The movie is based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Alien: Romulus is now playing in theaters.
