All Creatures Great and Small confirms release date for season 5

As a seasoned film enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of television dramas over the past few decades, I must say that the return of “All Creatures Great and Small” for its fifth season is an event that truly warms my heart. Having grown up with the beloved James Herriot novels and their previous adaptations, it’s a delight to see this timeless series continue to captivate audiences today.

Exciting tidings for enthusiasts of “All Creatures Great and Small”! The much-loved Channel 5 series is set to air its fifth season on Thursday, 19th September at 9pm, available both on Channel 5 and My5

In the upcoming storyline, we’ll continue from where we left off after the Christmas special last year, in which character Nicholas Ralph portraying James Herriot missed the birth of his own son, James, because he was so busy with his RAF training and a hectic schedule

In the upcoming season, we’ll have another set of six captivating episodes featuring familiar faces. Among them are Rachel Shenton portraying Helen Herriot, Anna Madeley stepping into the role of Mrs Hall, James Anthony-Rose reprising Richard Carmody, and Patricia Hodge bringing Mrs Pumphrey to life once more

In the recently unveiled first-look cast photo from last month, it appears that those recognizable individuals were present. The image seems to have been captured during the christening ceremony of baby James

Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that Callum Woodhouse is back in action, resuming his character, Tristan Farnon. This role had been put on hold during the last season as Tristan joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps

Following the cherished tales of James Herriot, the summary for the upcoming season states: “The series will once more breathe life into the stories of James Herriot. We’ll be back in Darrowby to catch up with our quirky and adored Skeldale Family, as well as the vibrant group of farmers, animals, and locals residing in the Yorkshire Dales during the 1940s.”

Fear not, supporters of the series; the show is here to stay on your screens for a while longer, seeing that it has already been given the green light for season 6

“Paul Testar, the drama commissioner from Channel 5 and Paramount Plus, expressed his delight that All Creatures Great and Small will air two more series on Channel 5, as the production of additional seasons was approved in February.”

“Our audience has deeply embraced this series, and we’re eager to continue sharing the timeless tales of James Herriot. We’re thrilled to present the upcoming episodes!”

Beginning this coming Thursday, the 19th of September, at 9:00 PM, Channel 5 and My5 will debut season 5 of All Creatures Great and Small. If you’d like to catch up, seasons 1-4 are already available for viewing on My5
