  • Seeking the Goldenfish
  • Fishing for Flavor
  • The Catch of a Lifetime!
  • Razzle Dazzle

You’ll locate Kanya at the Scarlet Forest base camp. She’s stationed towards the back area near the water. When you engage her in conversation, she’ll extend an invitation to instruct you on fishing skills, but remember, you must demonstrate your abilities by successfully finishing progressively challenging fishing tasks. Each time you accomplish one of these missions, she rewards you with a novel lure, enabling you to catch fish using it subsequently.

How to complete Fishing: Life, in Microcosm in Monster Hunter Wilds

As a keen fisherman, Kanya’s offering me my first quest to kick off our angling adventure – a simple task that doesn’t require me to venture far from base camp. Her wish is for me to reel in a catch of any size or species, making this a straightforward challenge I can tackle with ease.

You must use your fishing rod for the task at hand instead. My attempts using a Capture Net and grappling hook did not qualify.

Alright, as a gamer immersed in this virtual world, I’ll need my trusty fishing rod from my inventory for this task. Let me cast it out over the water and keep my fingers crossed. To boost my chances of catching a fish, I’ll jiggle the lure on my fishing rod to get its attention. When it takes a bite, I’ll reel it in swiftly, and proudly present my catch to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest base camp.

But hey, if I don’t fancy catching one here, there are plenty of other fishing spots scattered across this region where I can reel in any fish I desire!

How to complete Seeking the Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds

In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, Kanya’s second task will challenge your fishing abilities. To catch a rare Goldenfish, you’ll need to carefully follow her tips. The elusive Goldenfish can only be found lurking in caves since it prefers the dark and shuns daylight.

The Goldenfish isn’t hiding outside the Scarlet Forest; instead, it dwells within the mineral cavern located in region eight, concealed behind a waterfall. This locale is perfect for setting up a pop-up camp, making it an ideal fast travel spot whenever you wish to quickly reach this part of the region. To catch the elusive Goldenfish, ensure you’ve equipped the Golden Bughead lure, as it’s the only bait that seems appealing to it. Once caught, make your way back to base camp and present it to Kanya to unlock the opportunity for the next assignment.

How to complete Fishing for Flavor in Monster Hunter Wilds

The upcoming mission presents a new layer of complexity because it involves studying specific fish species found in specific zones within Monster Hunter Wilds. These fish do not roam freely but appear only during designated hours. Once you’ve finished the game’s main story, this quest will become available for you to undertake. A notable feature is that you can manipulate both the environment and the time of day.

To successfully complete the Fishing for Flavor quest, you should search for a Gravid Bowfin. These elusive fish can be found exclusively during the season of Abundance, as well as in the early hours of dawn and just after sunset, prior to the onset of full night.

As a fishing enthusiast, I’d recommend you aim for the season of abundance, preferably during the early morning or late evening hours. To enhance your chances, navigate towards region 11, where on the mini-map, you’ll notice a sizable body of water in a dimly lit area. This spot often experiences a fish frenzy with several fish leaping out of the water. Cast your Emerald Jitterbait lure at this location and patiently wait for the catch.

As a dedicated angler, I’ve found myself returning to this fishing spot more than once to land a coveted Gravid Bowfin. Before my luck struck, I was reeling in numerous Sushifish, which is common given its abundance. However, the elusive Gravid Bowfin proved hard to come by, reflecting its rarity. Once I’ve caught one, heading back to Kanya is the next step for me to move forward on my quest.

How to complete The Catch of a Lifetime! in Monster Hunter Wilds

In the Monster Hunter Wilds, Kanya challenges you to prove your skills by going after an enormous fish, not a specific species but rather its size. This is a sizable catch that you’ll need to tire out before you can reel it in, and unlike your usual fishing spots, this one can be elusive. To locate it, you’ll need to use a special lure.

A convenient spot to locate these big fishes is by heading to region 17, which is situated at the map’s top. This area also serves as a quick travel point, since you can set up a pop-up camp there. Upon reaching, scan the water for the larger fish that usually swim solo. Their size sets them apart, making them appear somewhat distant, but don’t be fooled – they are catchable provided you use the Tuff Joint Bait lure, such as the Speartuna.

Just like I discovered with the feisty Bowfin, you’ll need to cast your lure and give it a good jiggle – persistence is key since these fish aren’t easily enticed. It took quite a few tries and some patience, waiting about 10-15 minutes for one of the larger ones to finally bite. Once hooked, you’ll need to guide the fish, moving your line in sync with its movements to tire it out before you can slowly reel it towards the shore. After a successful catch, head back to Kanya to complete the final fishing quest.

How to complete Razzle Dazzle in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the final mission you receive from Kanya is titled Razzle Dazzle, which is also the most challenging one to complete due to being the last quest. The elusive fish required for this mission is the Grand Escunite, a rare species that we’ve managed to locate occasionally by exploring region 12, neighboring region eight. To reach region 12 more quickly, you can use the fast travel point you set up near here and then move over to region 12. Once there, sneak behind the waterfall in this area for a better chance of finding it. Keep in mind that it’s essential to do so during the Plenty season, specifically in the morning hours.

This sea creature boasts a bioluminescent exterior that makes it stand out when you’re scanning for it beneath the surface, provided you recognize its distinctive feature. There’s a possibility it may not have appeared in your gaming environment; if that’s the case, you’ll need to reload your game and come back to this location to give it another go. Once you’ve returned, attach the Tentacle Jigs bait onto your hook before casting your line into the water.

In due time, the Grand Escunite should grow fond of this bait, allowing you to catch it and display it proudly to Kanya. Fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds may be a challenging, patience-testing final quest, but afterwards, you can fish leisurely to your heart’s content.
