One intriguing question circulating in the comic book world is the identity of the latest Venom character donning gold armor in Marvel’s comics. Writer Al Ewing and artist Carlos Gomez have suggested several captivating possibilities for this new symbiote-bound hero, including Luke Cage, Rick Jones, Madame Masque, and Robbie Robertson as potential candidates. Despite the occasional gravity of Venom, it’s evident that the creative team is injecting some excitement into the “new” character by giving him some eccentric adversaries to confront. So if you ever thought “Venom battles an Evil Gritty” was a square on your bingo card, today might just be your lucky day!
In issue #2 of the fresh Venom series, the character’s true identity remains hidden, but hints are given about who stole the symbiote from its previous hosts, Eddie and Dylan Brock. This new symbiote vigilante seems to have his heroic responsibilities under control, yet Eddie Brock’s son yearns to reclaim the symbiote. The “Venom War” significantly altered the dynamics, with the Brocks losing their symbiotic attire and Eddie transforming into a shocking new version of Carnage. This issue is packed with unexpected developments, and the villainous duo of “Evil Gritty” and his associates might just take the prize for most jaw-dropping moments.

Chuck Stuff: The Evil Gritty
The “Death Throws” represent a fresh, sinister group of juggling super-villains, known as “New York’s longest-surviving themed criminal association.” Ewing and Gomez are evidently enjoying the creative process behind this novel idea. The group consists of characters such as Tenpin, Heave-Ho, Fair Shake, Tosser, among others. However, it’s Chuck Stuff who stands out, with a design and behavior reminiscent of a malevolent spinoff of the Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot Gritty.
In some amusing moments, “Chuck Stuff” showcases his Philadelphia dialect and playfully tosses Philly cheesesteaks at the latest Venom character. Fittingly embodying his persona and appearance, he adds a touch of humor to the scene. Although Gritty was vanquished by Venom, his entertaining concept makes us eager for his possible comeback in future episodes.
The All-New Gritty
As long as Gritty stays with the Philadelphia Flyers, he’s also been a guest star on several TV shows. He’s popped up on episodes of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Family Guy,” “Saturday Night Live,” and others, leaving no doubt that Gritty is one of the most beloved mascots in sports history. It’ll be exciting to see if Gritty’s signature move, “Chuck Stuff,” shows up in future Marvel comics given their initial appearance here.
Although the real identity of the latest Venom character hasn’t been disclosed yet, a shocking last page may exclude Luke Cage from the list, according to Dylan Brock. However, when this long-awaited hero finally reveals their true identity, it will undoubtedly be surprising.
