Amanda Overstreet Case: Teen Girl’s Remains Found in Freezer

As a seasoned crime drama enthusiast who has binge-watched countless episodes of “Cold Case” and “Bones,” I find myself utterly captivated by the chilling case of Amanda Leariel Overstreet. The eerie similarities to fictional plots are uncanny, yet this is undeniably real life.

Human remains found earlier this year in Colorado have been identified.

In early January, a garage sale organized by some newly acquired property owners in Mesa County led to an unexpected find that raised suspicions.

Upon their arrival, the sheriff’s department stated on October 11 that deputies discovered a freezer containing a person’s head and hands. This disturbing discovery was made by someone who came to collect a free appliance that had been offered by the new owner of the recently sold home.

Using DNA analysis, the coroner successfully identified the deceased individual as Amanda Leariel Overstreet, who was biologically related to the former house owner, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

According to officials, it’s thought that Amanda was around 16 years old when she vanished. Since April 2005, Overstreet hasn’t been spotted or contacted.

However, the department noted the teen was never reported missing.

According to Wendy, a representative from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, she revealed in a statement to DailyMail.com that Amanda’s mother, Leanne Overstreet Imer, and her late husband, Bradley Imer, were the previous owners of the property. However, no arrests have been made in this ongoing case.

As per the representative, it’s confirmed that Leanne continues to reside in Grand Junction, which is located in Mesa County, Colorado.

TopMob News has reached out to Leanne for comment but has not heard back.

Following the discovery of Amanda’s remains in January, neighbor Sam Troester provided insights into the local community’s response to this startling revelation. Troester mentioned that she found out about the situation when she allowed the prospective buyers of the freezer to use her bathroom on that particular day.

According to Sam, as he allowed them inside, he inquired cautiously, “What’s happening here?” He explained this to 9 News. They responded by saying they were emptying the freezer for transportation purposes and claimed a head had fallen out – a human head!

Following the positive identification, the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators are still looking into the details of her disappearance and are also conducting continuous examination of gathered evidence for further analysis.
