Amanda Seyfried Eager for Mamma Mia! 3 Despite Sequel Fatigue!

Fans remain optimistic about a return trip to the enchanting island of Kalokairi for another installment of Mamma Mia!, and lead actress Amanda Seyfried, who plays Sophie, has voiced her desire to revisit the set as well.

During an interview for Interview Magazine, Syefried had a chat with Rachel Brosnahan, the actress known for her role as Superman. She expressed, “There’s a hint of weariness towards sequels. I yearn for fresh, unique content.

I find the initial attempt quite daring and intimidating. On the other hand, making sequels doesn’t seem particularly courageous or frightening to me. It appears more like a financial move and can be quite disappointing.

However, she added: “Then again, I’d do Mamma Mia! 3 in a heartbeat.”

In the last few weeks, there’s been a growing sense that a comeback might be imminent, as it appears everyone involved is eager and ready to participate.

According to ABC News, Selma Seyfried herself stated that “many are predicting it will occur,” yet clarified that she has not read the script as of now.

Baranski expressed that while everyone would be eager to see it, it doesn’t guarantee its production. He cautiously stated, “I can’t definitively say that there will be a Mamma Mia! 3. However, we all yearn for its existence, undoubtedly.

According to Craymer herself, she revealed to Deadline in May 2023 that a third film is only just beginning, stating, “There definitely is a story there, and I believe Meryl [Streep] should reprise her role – and if the script is compelling, I think she would, as she genuinely enjoyed portraying Donna.

Between the release of Mamma Mia! in 2008 and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in 2018, there were a full ten years. If they make a third movie, fans might want to note down 2028 as the possible release year on their calendars.
