Generally speaking, when a fresh release of the Pokemon Trading Card Game (PTCG) hits stores, fans often debate which shop is likely to carry the cards in stock. However, certain drops are confined to specific locations. For instance, The Pokemon Center recently rolled out a unique version of the Black Bolt and White Flare Expansion Sets that were exclusive to them. Nonetheless, not all PTCG exclusives can be found at The Pokemon Center. On occasion, online retailer Amazon offers exclusive Pokemon merchandise. Usually, this is in the form of pearlescent Funko Pops, but today, Amazon introduced a new exclusive expansion for the PTCG within their Premium Collection.
On Amazon, a special collection featuring both Blaziken ex and Volcanion ex, titled the “Premium Collection,” is now showcased but without a confirmed release date. Some limited information about the items and their listing are available, however, they are currently unavailable with no specified restock date yet. Despite this, the initial details provide a glimpse into what we can expect from this new Amazon-exclusive Premium Collection.
It’s worth mentioning that this new collection seems quite alike to the August-releasing GameStop exclusive collections featuring Venusaur ex and Blastoise ex, known as the Premium Collection. While it’s expected they might share a similar price range, their release dates could differ. Unfortunately, neither the Amazon Exclusive collection nor the upcoming GameStop Premium Collection has its price listed yet since they’re not available in stock right now, so we can’t determine the exact cost for either of these exclusive ex Premium Collections at this time.
What’s Included in the Amazon Exclusive Blaziken ex & Volcanion ex Premium Collection?
As a gamer, I’m super excited about this new purchase! It comes with not one, but two promo cards – one each of Blaziken ex and Vlcanion ex. On top of that, there’s an oversized promo card showcasing Blaziken ex, which is pretty cool to see. But the real cherry on top? This bundle includes a whopping 10 booster packs! While the listing doesn’t specify which Pokémon booster packs are included, the image hints at two distinct art styles, making things even more intriguing. Can’t wait to see what I get!
In the image, it appears that the initial booster packs depicted are from the latest “Scarlet & Violet – Journey Together” collection. Compared to other recent releases, these cards have been relatively easy to obtain. Unlike the “Prismatic Evolutions,” they haven’t experienced a dramatic increase in resale value, leading to a larger supply compared to several other Pokémon TCG sets currently available.

In the Amazon Exclusive Premium Collection image, the other booster packs aren’t like those shown. They appear to be from the sought-after Team Rocket-themed “Destined Rivals” set. Unlike the cards from the “Journey Together” set, obtaining these Rocket cards has been more challenging. Therefore, discovering that these boosters will be part of an upcoming Premium Collection is quite thrilling.
Because the new Amazon-exclusive collection of Destined Rivals packs is part of the Premium Collection, it’s expected to be snapped up rapidly. If you’re keen on owning one, it would be wise to stay alert for when Amazon reveals the exact launch date. Unlike most other stores, Amazon doesn’t usually impose a strict limit on Pokemon items. This could lead to a rapid sellout.
