Amazon’s God of War Series Has Already Had a Second Season Ordered

It’s yet to be determined if Sony will achieve similar success with its upcoming PlayStation adaptations as it has with HBO’s The Last of Us, but they certainly have multiple projects in development. For example, a God of War series has been under production at Amazon Prime for some time now, and behind-the-scenes, there seems to be a lot of confidence in the project.

In a recent conversation with Katee Sackhoff, Ronald D. Moore, who is now in charge of the TV series “God of War”, shared some updates about the production’s advancement and disclosed that Amazon has already commissioned two seasons for this upcoming adaptation.

Currently, I’m engaged in the process of transforming a popular video game titled “God of War” into a screenplay. This game is quite renowned in the gaming industry, as Amazon has commissioned not one but two seasons based on it. They’ve invited me to contribute to the project, and at present, I’m immersed in the writers’ room, working on this new and exciting endeavor.

In October, it was disclosed that the TV series based on ‘God of War’ was being revived by Amazon Prime, with Moore, renowned for his work on ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica’, appointed as its new headwriter. Previously involved showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus decided to leave the project.
