AMC's Talamasca Series Adds The Dark Knight, Prison Break Actor to Cast

As a seasoned gamer with years of immersion in various fictional universes, I must say that the announcement of William Fichtner joining AMC’s The Talamasca is nothing short of thrilling! His extensive resume, which includes roles in Armageddon, Prison Break, and The Dark Knight, promises to breathe life into the enigmatic character of Jasper.

In a recent announcement, AMC’s “The Talamasc,” the third installment in their Anne Rice Immortal Universe, has expanded its cast with the addition of William Fichtner. Known for his roles in “The Dark Knight” and “Prison Break,” Fichtner will be taking on a series regular role as Jasper. Previously, it was announced that Nicholas Denton would star as Guy Anatole in the lead role. The six-episode series, which received the greenlight back in June, is set to premiere on AMC in 2025. Filming is scheduled to begin next month.

As per the announcement, Jasper from Fichtner is depicted as a secretive American figure who has subtly taken charge and exerted influence over the Talamasca’s London headquarters. While his intentions and strategies remain shrouded in secrecy, his charisma and unyielding sense of justice are just as perilous as the authority he seeks to obtain. John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty serve as executive producers for Anne Rice’s The Talamasca, with Hancock slated to direct and both he and Lafferty acting as co-showrunners. Mark Johnson, who manages all of the Anne Rice Immortal Universe for AMC, is also a producer.

In the show, Fichtner teams up with Denton, where they’ll delve into the lives of individuals who monitor and control supernatural beings like witches, vampires, and various creatures found worldwide. Notably, Fichtner boasts a rich background in film and television, having been part of productions like Armageddon, Crash, The Dark Knight, and series such as Prison Break, Entourage, Crossing Lines, and Mom.

Dan McDermott, AMC Networks’ president of entertainment and AMC Studios, shared that this new story has been a long-held ambition for them, delving into an intriguing and captivating secret society – the Talamasca – which has made appearances in both their ongoing Anne Rice series. With talent as high as John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty on board, and collaborating closely with producer Mark Johnson as the creative lead for the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, they are excited about this project.

Regarding the broader Immortal Universe of AMC, it’s not just The Talamasca series that’s anticipated in 2025. The Mayfair Witch series is also set to resume for its second season, with Rowan Mayfair (played by Alexandra Daddario) continuing her journey in Season 2. In the first season, she unknowingly gave birth to a demon named Lasher (Jack Huston). This upcoming season will find Rowan seeking to understand whether he’s human or monster, and using him to fulfill her healing role. However, when misfortune befalls her family, she must momentarily abandon her personal goals to safeguard them instead. Moreover, it has been renewed for a third season on the network, though the exact return date for Interview With the Vampire remains undisclosed at this time.

Anne Rice’s The Talamasca is expected to debut sometime in 2025 on AMC.
