AMD Announces New Ryzen X3D Desktop CPUs, Z2 CPUs for Handheld PCs, and HX CPUs for Laptops

AMD unveiled a fresh set of CPUs centered around improved performance within its Ryzen lineup, with two new X3D models taking the spotlight: the Ryzen 9950X3D and the Ryzen 9900X3D. The standout model, the Ryzen 9950X3D, boasts 16 cores, 32 threads, a base clock speed of 4.3 GHz that can escalate to 5.7 GHz, and offers 144 MB of cache. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 9900X3D sports 12 cores, a boostable clock speed up to 5.5 GHz from 4.4 GHz, and comes equipped with 140 MB of cache.

As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the latest Ryzen Z2 processor series is making headlines! Leading the pack is the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, boasting 8 cores that can turbocharge up to an impressive 5 GHz, and equipped with a powerful 16 graphics cores. The standard Ryzen Z2 offers 4 cores, reaching a speedy boost of 5.1 GHz, and is accompanied by 12 graphics cores. Completing the lineup is the compact yet mighty Ryzen Z2 Go, featuring 4 cores that can boost up to 4.3 GHz, and boasting 12 graphics cores as well.

AMD also unveiled new top-tier processors for high-performance laptops: the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, Ryzen 9 9955HX, and Ryzen 9 9850HX. The “X3D” version of the Ryzen 9 9955HX comes equipped with a cache memory of 144 MB in addition to its 16 CPU cores, two graphics cores, and a turbo boost clock that reaches up to 5.4 GHz, starting from a base speed of 2.5 GHz. The Ryzen 9 9850HX has 12 CPU cores, two graphics cores, and can increase its speed from 3 GHz to 5.2 GHz.

In Q1 of 2025, we can expect the release of the new Ryzen X3D CPUs and Ryzen Z2 chips, followed by the introduction of the Ryzen 9000 HX chips in the first half of 2025.
