American Dad Has Reportedly Been Saved From Cancellation (With a Big Upgrade)

Earlier today, it was confirmed that “American Dad” would no longer be airing new episodes on TBS. However, just as quickly as this news came out, Deadline reported some exciting updates about the Smith family’s future. Contrary to its cancellation on cable networks, “American Dad” is not only avoiding being canceled but will return to a major network to broadcast fresh episodes. This new network holds a special significance for the Smith family, as the reboot of the series can be seen as a sort of homecoming for the Seth MacFarlane production due to its past connections with the network.

As an onlooker, I’m excited to report that reliable sources at Deadline have confirmed that American Dad will be back for another season on Fox. This network has been its home since the show first aired in 2005, and while the specific airtime hasn’t been announced yet, it remains to be seen if we’ll catch up with the Smith family again on Sunday nights.

With American Dad approaching its 400th episode, this news is sure to delight fans of the series. Although TBS may no longer be the go-to place for new episodes, they will continue to air older ones until 2030. It’s clear that both Fox and TBS acknowledge the show’s significant impact, even though it hasn’t quite reached the same level of popularity as Family Guy.

Hulu’s Animation Empire

Given that all seasons of American Dad can be found on Hulu, it’s logical for Disney to consider furthering the Smith family’s tale on Fox. The series has been a highly re-watched animated favorite in recent times, and there’s now plenty to binge on. Regrettably, even with MacFarlane’s increasing popularity, Fox hasn’t announced plans to revive The Cleveland Show, although they’ve warmly welcomed Cleveland and the family back to Family Guy.

Apart from being the mastermind behind both “Family Guy” and “American Dad”, Seth MacFarlane also takes on various roles in these popular shows. In “Family Guy”, he voices Peter, Stewie, and Brian Griffin, while in “American Dad”, he portrays Roger The Alien, Stan Smith, and numerous other supporting characters.
