Amy Schumer Opens Up About Her Shocking New Sex Life Confession

Amy Schumer isn’t joking about this confession.

The humorist disclosed that she’s been going through hormone replacement therapy due to perimenopause and has also been taking weight-loss drugs, which have brought about some positive changes in her intimate relationships.

In a video shared on Instagram on March 21st, she expressed that her hair appears thicker and her skin seems improved. She also mentioned having increased vitality and a stronger desire to be active, hinting at it metaphorically… she was referring to an enhancement in her romantic life.

She shared that her journey started when she sought assistance from telehealth service Midi Health after learning she was going through perimenopause, a phase characterized by Mayo Clinic as the period leading up to menopause when your body naturally transitions to this stage.

Amy, mother of five-year-old Gene and married to Chris Fischer, mentioned that since starting this journey, her symptoms associated with perimenopause have vanished.

As a devoted follower, I too can attest to the remarkable experience I’ve had with Midi Health. In fact, I’ve chosen to invest in their promising future.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement over Amy’s health progress! It’s not just one aspect of her journey that’s been flourishing; her overall wellness is thriving. Intriguingly, she’s shared that her experience with the GLP-1 medication, Mounjaro, for weight management has been exceptionally positive – “having a really good experience” are her very words!

“I’m having a really good experience with it,” she shared. “I wanted to keep it real with you.”

For a while now, Amy has been candid about her health struggles. In fact, the star of “Kinda Pregnant” recently shared more details about her Cushing’s Syndrome diagnosis and how online comments played a role in helping her identify this condition. This condition occurs when the body produces excessive cortisol, as explained by Mayo Clinic.

After numerous interviews, the internet seemed to take notice, and she responded, “Alright everyone, let’s calm down,” during an interview with Alex Cooper on a Call Her Daddy podcast episode in January. However, medical professionals started weighing in with their opinions in the comment section as well.

She went on to say, “‘Hold up, are doctors bullying me online?’ They replied, ‘We suspect you might have a condition known as Cushing. It’s related to elevated cortisol production – specifically, cortisol levels and steroid injections.’

After investigating, Amy verified in February 2024 that she indeed had Cushing’s disease. Fortunately, she found out it was a type that could be effectively managed by her.

“So anyway, I got rid of [it],” she said. “Like, it just has to work itself out.”

In a hockey game in December 2024, one player from the AHL had a skate slash by another player and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son had fully healed, New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN that they were fortunate. He added that he wouldn’t wish such an incident on any parent.

In March 2025, Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her former spouse, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack. Fortunately, he made it through this challenging incident.

In an unexpected turn of events during a New York Knicks match in March 2025, I myself found myself in a health predicament that necessitated my removal from Madison Square Garden in a stretcher. The high-energy atmosphere of the 30 Rock star’s favorite basketball arena took an unexpected pause as the spotlight shifted to me.

On the next day, the comedian posted an update on social media explaining that it was actually food poisoning he had experienced, but he was getting better.

In February 2025, the former star of Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip for a clay pigeon shooting celebration in honor of her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday.

She posted on Instagram that there was another group with us who accidentally fired their weapon towards us, hitting her in the face. @thebrendanrooney promptly responded, evaluated her condition, and transported her to the hospital. She was wounded in five spots; one of them was just inches away from striking her right eye directly.

The actor from Kim Possible went on to say, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck at the back of my eye, and it’s not safe to have it removed surgically yet. My doctors are keeping a close eye on me for now, but I can see fine as of now.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share this heartfelt sentiment: The actress expressed her profound gratitude for simply being alive. In her own words, she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends immensely. She shared that in a moment of near-death experience, she glimpsed her life in an instant. Let me emphasize, make it a habit to embrace the people around you whenever you can. Life, as we know it, holds the potential to transform unexpectedly, right before our eyes.

In Amy Schumer‘s own words during an episode of Call Her Daddy in January 2025, she expressed gratitude that the internet, despite not always being a friendly place, had helped her seek answers regarding her health concerns. She mentioned that after a series of interviews, people began commenting on her appearance, which they suspected was due to Cushing syndrome, caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. Surprised to be receiving medical advice from internet users, Amy eventually realized that she had been getting steroid injections for her scars after a breast reduction and C-section. She went on to say that without the internet’s harsh criticism, she may not have discovered this health issue, now known as Cushing syndrome, which would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Today, Amy is relieved that she is healthy, having learned in February 2024 that the type of Cushing she has will resolve on its own.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can share a personal health experience that left me feeling incredibly grateful for modern medicine. Last March, while enjoying breakfast with my wonderful husband Justin, I experienced symptoms reminiscent of a stroke. My dear husband asked if I was alright, but I couldn’t immediately respond because I wasn’t sure and then found myself unable to speak. My right side began to droop, and I struggled to form sentences.

Thankfully, the facial drooping subsided, and my speech returned, but we decided it was best to visit a hospital for a check-up. The doctors conducted scans and discovered that I had suffered a small blood clot in my brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

Subsequent tests at the University of California, Los Angeles, revealed that I had a hole in my heart known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). It seems that the blood clot made its way into my heart, escaped through the PFO, and travelled to my brain, causing the TIA.

I underwent a successful PFO closure procedure, and I am now feeling fantastic. This experience has reminded me of the importance of prioritizing our health and seeking medical attention when necessary.

In the same year Hailey went through a health crisis, Justin also faced one of his own. Specifically, in 2022, the “Baby” singer announced that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare condition that caused temporary facial paralysis and required him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.

Justin explained on Instagram that this virus affected the nerve in his ear and his facial nerves, causing full paralysis on one side of his face. He mentioned that he couldn’t blink one eye, smile on that side of his face, or move the nostril on the affected side. The paralysis made it difficult for him to eat, but fortunately, it eventually subsided.

Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was doing well and feeling much better after this unexpected health issue. She acknowledged that it was a scary situation, but she expressed her relief that he would be fine in the end.

Jamie Foxx, who had initially chosen to keep his April 2023 hospitalization a private matter, eventually shared his experiences. In Atlanta, the Oscar-winning actor recounted in his 2024 Netflix special What Had Happened Was…, “I was experiencing such a severe headache that I asked my friend for an aspirin. Before I could take it, I fainted. I can’t remember the next 20 days.”

Upon visiting a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, his sister, Deidra Dixon, recognized something was wrong and drove him to another hospital where they discovered he had suffered a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.

Twenty days after the operation, Foxx awoke on May 4 in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then moved to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “as I truly needed each one of them.

Actress Emilia Clarke faced a personal battle rather than onscreen battles when she experienced a life-threatening stroke and brain injury in 2019. In an essay titled “A Battle for My Life,” she recounted her ordeal at the gym where she suddenly became violently ill, followed by severe pain in her head that she suspected was related to brain damage.

She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a type of stroke caused by bleeding surrounding the brain. Emilia underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, which she described as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, speaking nonsense.

However, a week later, her aphasia passed, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. Unfortunately, when her 2013 brain scan results were reviewed, they found that the growth had doubled in size, requiring another surgery. She shared that this operation involved accessing her brain through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly in good health and has made a full recovery.

Cori Broadus, daughter of music icon Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family.

Following a “severe stroke” in January 2024, her loved ones swiftly gathered to support her.

In an interview with TopMob News‘ correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024, she shared, “I informed them about my stroke and sent a picture. Everyone rushed to help me.”

Due to other health issues, Cori’s hospital stay extended beyond her initial expectation.

“I could have been discharged after the stroke,” she continued from Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “However, my lupus wasn’t in good shape. My kidneys were failing, and there was a lot happening.”

Currently, Cori is recovering well.

“I’m doing well,” she added. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but otherwise, I was fine.

During her twenties, the health of Shailene Woodley wasn’t ideal. She experienced numerous health issues that affected her hearing, mobility, and digestion. In an interview on the SHE MD Podcast in September 2024, she explained, “I couldn’t walk for more than a few minutes without needing to rest for hours. Everything I ate upset my stomach.”

Her struggle with various health problems led her to seek answers. As someone who has a background in holistic medicine and herbalism, she chose to work with both conventional doctors and alternative healers. This quest for wellness took her over ten years.

During this challenging decade, Shailene also grappled with the emotional fallout from her physical discomfort. She developed a fear of food, which in turn led to body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity and uncertainty about what it meant to feel safe and comfortable in her own skin.

Now, after addressing both her physical and mental health issues, Shailene is thriving. She shared, “This journey eventually resolved my physical health problems, and I am now very healthy. I’m so grateful to be able to say that.
