Amy Schumer Shares Candid Photo After Cushing’s Diagnosis

Amy Schumer is feeling pretty.

The actress famously known as “Kinda Pregnant” recently posted an unedited, natural picture of herself, which she captioned “no makeup, no touch-ups,” a few days following her disclosure that internet comments about her appearance in the previous year contributed to her Cushing’s syndrome diagnosis.

Amy reposted the selfie onto her grid, writing, “What can I say It was a good night.”

Four days ago, the individual aged 43 shared a post following her clarification that not every comment regarding her seemingly swollen face on social media was meant unkindly.

Approximately a year ago, when I was being interviewed extensively by the media, the internet seemed to turn critical towards me. On the January 22nd episode of Call her Daddy, she explained this to host Alex Cooper, stating that at first, she tried to calm everyone down. However, medical professionals began commenting on the discussions as well.

I shared with them that I overheard healthcare providers showing genuine worry, expressing it as, “Hold on, hold on, we believe there might be something off. Frankly, your appearance seems unusual, and we suspect something may not be right.

The actress famously known for her role in “Trainwreck” – a mother to five-year-old Gene with her partner Chris Fischer – reminisced on the astonishing accuracy of the medical professionals’ assumptions concerning her wellbeing, despite never having met them before.

Amy remarked, “It felt as if I was being pranked by physicians. They suggested that I might have a condition known as Cushing’s syndrome, which seems to be related to elevated cortisol, cortisol levels, and steroid injections.

Upon discovering that excessive steroid injections could potentially lead to Cushing syndrome (a condition she had been receiving due to her breast reduction surgery and C-section), the comedian came to understand that they were on the right track with their suspicions. These theories were substantiated when she was officially diagnosed with Cushing’s disease last February, just before filming Kinda Pregnant in March.

She shared that she found out about her condition just as we were about to begin, and it turned out to be something known as “moon face”.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this intriguing revelation: When the comedian discovered that excessive steroid injections, a treatment she had been receiving for her breast reduction scars and C-section, could potentially lead to Cushing syndrome, it sparked a sense of realization. Her suspicions were validated when she was officially diagnosed with Cushing’s disease last February, just before the filming of Kinda Pregnant commenced in March.

She shared that she discovered she had this health condition just as we were about to begin, and it turned out she has a condition known as “moon face”.

Initially, she was terrified as she had the severe form of Cushing’s disease that could potentially be fatal. This left her feeling extremely dejected about herself. However, she eventually discovered that she possessed a resilience capable of overcoming this condition.

“So anyway, I got rid of [it],” Amy said. “Like, it just has to work itself out.”

In simpler terms, those feelings were similar to what she expressed when she first announced her diagnosis to the public a year back.

Amy expressed her relief by saying, “Discovering that my type of Cushing syndrome would naturally resolve on its own and I am in good health was the best news I could have hoped for.
