Andor Season 2 Shocks Fans with Heartbreaking Character Death

Episode 3 of Andor Season 2 included the death of a beloved series character.

Titled “Harvest,” the third episode of the last season in Andor unfolds after an Imperial attack on Mina-Rau, resulting in Brasso (played by Joplin Sibtain) being fatally wounded. However, his selfless act in dying and his actions throughout the first season of Andor have left viewers pondering over his importance and questioning if he is actually the main hero in this Star Wars series on Disney+.

In the initial three episodes of Andor Season 2, the Imperials were relentlessly pursuing the Rebels in their former sanctuary, Mina-Rau. However, it’s during a raid that Brasso bravely reveals his loyalty by falsely accusing farmers of exploitation to shield the Rebels’ involvement. This act makes him an arrest target instead.

When Cassian shows up and demolishes the Imperial vessels, triggering a gun battle, Brasso flees on a speeder to assist his comrades. Unfortunately, he is struck by blaster fire. Overwhelmed with grief, Cassian has no choice but to abandon Brasso’s lifeless body in order to save the rest of the Ferrix team (take a look at Andor Season 2’s roster of 15 confirmed Star Wars characters here).

Brasso’s selfless actions, such as sacrificing himself, have earned him hero status, but his dedication to safeguarding others has been a recurring theme since his debut in Season 1 of “Andor.” Throughout the series, Brasso has consistently put others before himself, from sabotaging a ship to help Cassian escape Ferrix to caring for Maarva and B2EMO during Cassian’s absence. He even went as far as trying to warn Wilmon before the raid, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to those around him.

In addition to this, he was the individual who descended Rix Road with Maarva’s burial stone during the climactic, revolutionary riot at the end of Season 1 of Andor.

Why Brasso’s Season 2 Goodbye Is a Huge Loss For Andor

As a devoted fan of “Andor,” I must admit that while characters like Cassian, Bix, Mon Mothma, and Luthen often hogged the limelight, it was the quiet, unassuming Brasso who truly pulsed with life within this series. His actions, loyalty, and selflessness were the heart and soul of the show. Now that he’s no longer with us, I can’t help but feel a void – a void filled with the values and unwavering human decency that Brasso embodied.

As we progress into the upcoming blocks of episodes in Andor Season 2, it will be intriguing to observe how Cassian, Bix, and Wilmon might pay tribute to and emulate Brasso’s traits and uphold his heroic legacy.

Additionally, there arises the query about who might follow, as Star Wars enthusiasts are aware that only Cassian hails from Ferrix and appears in the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“.

Find out how Andor Season 2 ends according to showrunner Tony Gilroy.

Episodes 4-6 of Andor Season 2 debut on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Disney+.
