Oh boy, as a die-hard Witcher fan since the early days of the saga, this news about a new book from Andrzej Sapkowski has me practically dancing around my living room! After all these years, we finally get to delve deeper into Geralt’s past and witness his first steps in the witchcraft world. I can already picture myself curled up with a cup of tea, engrossed in the pages of Raven Crossroads, eagerly following young Geralt as he battles monsters, saves virgins, and navigates the complexities of life.
Over the last ten years, The Witcher has exploded as a multimedia powerhouse across gaming and TV platforms. However, it’s been some time since we’ve seen a new book from series creator Andrzej Sapkowski; the latest one, titled Season of Storms, came out in 2013. But now, there’s exciting news on the horizon! Sapkowski is currently working on another installment in the franchise, and some significant details about this upcoming work have been unveiled in the November issue of Nowa Fantastyka magazine, courtesy of Redanian Intelligence.
The title of the new book is “Rozdroże Kruków,” which translates to “Raven Crossroads.” This suggests that possible alternative titles could be “Raven’s Crossing” or “Crossroads of the Raven,” as English editions will provide the direct translation, but they have not been released online as of now.
Below, you’ll find the latest cover showcasing a young Geralt confronting a mysterious creature in what seems like a graveyard setting. Previously, author Sapkowski only confirmed that the upcoming book would star Geralt as its main character, with no other plot details revealed. However, fresh information has emerged, and it appears this story will delve into the teenage years of our protagonist. For further details, check out the full description provided below.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this upcoming tale once again delves into the world of the Polish fantasy maestro. This time, we’re journeying back to Geralt’s formative years, a time when he was just beginning to navigate the complexities of witchcraft. Facing numerous trials and tribulations, our protagonist equips himself with two enchanted swords, battling monstrous foes, rescuing virgins in distress, and lending a helping hand to lovelorn couples. Adhering to the principles instilled by his wise mentors, Geralt strives to uphold an unspoken code. Life, as ever, offers no reprieve from its surprises – idealistic youth sometimes collides with harsh reality. The saga persists, and the story continues to unfold…
It’s intriguing to note that Sapkowski initially showed no signs of creating prequels or sequels. However, this work clearly falls into the category of a prequel, and if it gains popularity, we may be treated to additional stories within the same timeframe. As for a sequel, only time will tell, but there is a great deal of enthusiasm among fans who would relish the opportunity to learn more about their beloved characters’ futures.
The first chapter of the new story is now available to read in the issue of Nowa Fantastyka, and the full book will release on December 1st in Poland. International release dates haven’t been revealed yet, but we will keep you posted.
