The latest development in this saga is Jolie’s request for Pitt to release any third-party communications regarding a 2016 plane incident where she alleged Pitt had choked one of their children, Maddox.

The star of “Maleficent” filed for divorce from her husband, who is known for his role in “Fight Club,” back in 2016, ending their two-year marriage. Since then, she has been involved in a contentious legal dispute with him. This stems from her sale of their shared French estate and vineyard, Château Miraval, which she no longer owns a part of.
In relation to the ongoing court case, Jolie has requested the judge to compel Pitt to provide any correspondence he may have had with third parties regarding the 2016 plane incident. During this incident, Jolie claimed in a previous court document that Pitt had physically harmed their son Maddox, who is now 22, as well as their other children: Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and the twins Vivienne and Knox, both 16.
In a document acquired by TopMob News on July 17, Pitt’s lawyers criticized the actress from “Eternals” for making a sensational demand, which they described as an attempt to dig up private information about her ex-husband’s past. As a result, his legal team responded accordingly.
Mr. Pitt’s fear of handing over the documents comes as no shock to us, Angelina’s legal representative stated to TopMob News on July 17th. With her continued plea for Pitt to cease hostilities and mend their family, Angelina is compelled to acquire the necessary evidence to disprove his accusations if he fails to withdraw his lawsuit.
Pitt’s representatives chose not to respond, but previously, his attorney Anne Kiley told TopMob about Jolie’s claims of choking, “Brad has admitted responsibility for anything he’s implicated in since the beginning – unlike the other party – but he won’t accept blame for things he didn’t do. He’s faced numerous personal attacks and distortions.”
Previously, Pitt’s court documents claimed that Jolie illegally sold her shares in Château Miraval to an outside buyer without Pitt’s approval, allegedly breaching an unwritten understanding between them. On the other hand, Jolie’s lawyers argued that she was forced to sell due to Pitt unexpectedly presenting her with a restrictive NDA during his buyout negotiations.
Despite not being required to do so, Jolie chose to propose selling her share to Pitt and discussed terms with him extensively. With a deal almost within reach, Pitt’s arrogance took over: he unexpectedly presented excessive and irrelevant demands, such as a clause aimed at silencing Jolie from discussing the causes of their marital separation.
In 2022, Nouvel, a business owned by Jolie that she transferred to an international beverage corporation in 2021 as part of the winery transaction, filed a lawsuit against Pitt for trying to seize control and gain full ownership of Château Miraval alone.

When I heard about Pitt’s countersuit being called “another rehash and repackaging of old material” by a source close to him, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes as an obsessed fan. It seemed like just another attempt to shift the focus away from their own actions, you know?
In Pitt’s most recent court document, his legal team contended that allowing Jolie to access Pitt’s correspondence regarding the plane incident is unnecessary, as there is no justification for revisiting family law matters in this court.
They explained that this is actually a business conflict over a family estate and vineyard. For the points outlined in the document, the Plaintiffs kindly ask the Court to reject the Defendant’s motion.
