The movie “Life or Something Like It” opened in the Top 10 in 24 countries around the world, including South America, North America, Europe, and Asia. In the United States, the film starring Angelina Jolie came in second place, following another movie. On a global scale, it was outperformed by the current box office leader, which held its top spot for a fourth consecutive week. The new South African comedy “Meet the Khumalos” took the number one position.

In the film titled “Life or Something Like It“, Angelina Jolie portrays Lanie Kerrigan, a reporter for a popular Seattle television show. Despite enjoying a luxurious lifestyle, an encounter with a psychic prompts her to reassess her life and discover who she truly is. From 1998, with Hell’s Kitchen N.Y.C., which garnered a 40% rating from critics and 36% from the audience, Angelina Jolie’s films received generally negative reviews until 2004’s Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which had a 71% rating from critics and 46% from the audience. In fact, she had a stretch of 11 consecutive movies that were poorly received by critics, although some of them went on to become classics, like Girl, Interrupted, which earned her an Oscar (with an 84% approval from the audience), as well as The Bone Collection from 1999 and Gone in Sixty Seconds from 2000.
