Angelina Jolie's Golden Globes Outing Proves Her Kids Are Her Go-Tos

One of the high notes of the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet? Angelina Jolie’s family outing.

At the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on January 5, Maria star – nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture Category for her portrayal of opera singer Maria Callas – arrived accompanied by her daughter Zahara (follow the winners list here throughout the night).

For this event, Jolie donned a semi-transparent, metallic dress and her 19-year-old daughter wore a white dress adorned with a black, embroidered tree design (take a look at all the red carpet looks here).

The actress, who has Zahara along with Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 from her relationship with Brad Pitt, tends to keep private details of her family’s life. However, it might not come as a shock to fans that she brought her children to the 82nd annual award show. Previously, she has walked red carpets with them, such as at the Palm Springs International Film Awards on January 3 and the 2018 Golden Globes, while Pax joined her in the past and her two eldest sons also worked as production assistants on the film.

In an interview with BBC News in December, the former Maleficent actor explained that their character had endured a great deal of suffering and had observed them dealing with numerous challenges. However, the character hadn’t witnessed them openly showing much of the pain that parents often conceal from their children. The actor went on to say that the character was present for some of this raw emotional expression, but they would also offer comfort by hugging or bringing them cups of tea.

Indeed, I frequently found myself captured on tape by my son during my struggling days of honing my operatic craft. He was there, supporting me from the start.

She went on to say, “It’s beneficial for your kids to see you struggle and make mistakes, even get angry and need to try again, instead of always doing things effortlessly.” She emphasized that this is a valuable and lovely lesson.

Jolie recently made a red-carpet appearance, following the resolution of her divorce with Pitt. For the last eight years, the public has been witness to the legal saga between these Oscar winners – covering child custody matters for their six kids and disputes over their vineyard, Château Miraval.

Approximately eight years back, Angelina initiated the divorce proceedings from Brad Pitt, as confirmed by her lawyer James Simon in a statement to NBC News on December 31st. Since then, she has been devoted to seeking tranquility and healing for their family. This announcement marks a step in a prolonged process that commenced eight years ago. To be honest, Angelina is weary, but she feels relieved that this particular aspect has concluded.

Pitt has yet to publicly comment on the settlement.

Maria represents Angelina Jolie’s first film debut in almost three years, following her role in 2021’s Eternals. In an interview with Vanity Fair last month, she discussed taking a break from Hollywood, stating that she felt rather gloomy and needed more time at home due to lack of light and energy. She further explained that the choice to work or not wasn’t always creative but often practical in recent years. However, Maria seems to be the start of her reemergence, with many kind individuals providing support during this process.
