Initially, it appeared as though Nintendo had set aside its hit Switch game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” for some time, with no updates since 2022. However, a sudden update in the previous month broke this silence. Interestingly, another patch has been rolled out by Nintendo barely a month after the first one. Although this isn’t the long-awaited new “Animal Crossing” game that fans were eagerly anticipating, it does indicate that Nintendo is still engaged with the franchise. The latest update for “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” addresses some bugs and additional improvements.
A good number of Nintendo enthusiasts were taken aback as there was no announcement for a fresh Animal Crossing game during the Switch 2 presentation, and there’s currently no specific Switch 2 edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, it appears that Nintendo has been brainstorming ways to enhance the popular game on the new console, evidenced by the recent updates. The latest update is the second one in just two months, though it doesn’t bring any significant content changes, it does address some minor bugs.
Primarily, this update tackles an issue unique to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch 2. It was found that altering a resident’s home decoration with Tom Nook could potentially freeze the game completely on the Switch 2. Fortunately, this problem has now been addressed. Additionally, the update corrects several other issues experienced by players on both the original Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2, such as disappearing crafted fences and various other improvements and fixes.
