Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Ending Service on November 29, Paid Version in Development

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen games come and go, but few have left as deep an impression as Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. I remember the day it launched back in 2017, a breath of fresh air in the mobile gaming scene. It was a delightful diversion from the fast-paced, high-stress games that were all the rage at the time.

Nintendo’s freely playable mobile adaptation of “Animal Crossing,” titled “Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp,” is planning to discontinue its services and shift towards a paid model, as per the recent announcement by the company.

After initially launching in 2017, the game is set to discontinue its services on November 29. Following this date, players will no longer be able to play the game. The sale of Leaf Tickets (the game’s in-app purchases) will conclude on November 26, and automatic renewals for the Pocket Camp Club subscription service will terminate on October 28.

Although Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp may be phased out, it’s not being permanently removed. Nintendo is developing a premium version of the app, aiming for release around the same time as the current version’s service ends. This new version will eliminate microtransactions, granting players unlimited access to the game and all its features with a single purchase.

In the new version of the app, it will also allow for data transfer from the current free version to the forthcoming premium version.
