As a seasoned gamer with decades of pixels under my belt, let me tell you, 2024 has been a year of indie surprises, and Animal Well is one that truly left its paw prints on my heart! Having traversed the digital landscapes of countless titles, I can confidently say that this Metroidvania gem stands out like a beacon in the pixelated night.
2024 saw a wave of indie games stealing hearts, but none captured mine quite like “Animal Well”. Crafted by the talented solo developer Billy Basso, this Metroidvania gem dropped on various platforms except for Xbox earlier in the year. Now, it’s made its way to Xbox too, completing its platform sweep!
As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that during the latest Xbox Partner Preview, publisher Bigmode unveiled some fantastic news! Not only is the captivating game, Animal Well, making its way to Xbox Series X/S, but it’s already available on Microsoft’s current-gen consoles today! Catch a sneak peek of the game in the trailer below and get ready for an unforgettable adventure.
The game, titled “Animal Well”, primarily concentrates on exploration, promoting a non-linear journey and advancement within its richly detailed, meticulously designed environment. Combat is minimal to none, instead offering an array of puzzles and platforming hurdles to overcome, along with visually stunning pixel art graphics. Indeed, it creates a distinctive space for itself in the gaming world.
Animal Well is also available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
