Ubisoft has unveiled a fresh trailer for their upcoming city-building game set in ancient Rome, titled Anno 117: Pax Romana. This three-minute video offers a glimpse into the game’s mechanics, guided by creative director Manuel Reinher. You can watch the trailer here below.

In the named game, “Anno 117: Pax Romana,” the action unfolds in the titled year, immersing gamers as a Roman provincial governor. Due to familial expectations, players must embark on journeys to uncharted territories and ultimately face tough decisions.

The narrative centers on characters assisting in the restoration of the Roman Empire following a devastating natural catastrophe that occurred years prior. Initially, progress seems smooth, but eventually, the players are expelled from the empire. From thereon, the game focuses on constructing a city anew, and addressing its economic requirements by mastering complex supply networks.

One notable innovation in “Anno 117: Pax Romana” is the integration of modular vessels. This allows players to construct and personalize their ships during the campaign according to their preferences. Customizations may involve adding oars, extra sails to harness favorable breezes, and more, enhancing the gaming experience.

In June 2024, the sequel to the popular game Anno 1800, named Anno 117: Pax Romana, was introduced. This new title invites players to join in the process of constructing cities within the regions of Latium and Albion, with a strong focus on the game’s narrative.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
