Following her recent Oscar victory for the film Anora, actress Mikey Madison is now set to collaborate on a significant project. She will be working alongside Academy Award-nominated star Kirsten Dunst in a suspenseful tale revolving around enigmatic mermaids.
Under the guidance of Alejandro Landes Echavarría, who is known for his 2019 war drama Monos, the upcoming film titled Reptilia follows a dental hygienist’s descent into the murky and humid world of Florida’s illegal exotic pet trade.
At the current point, not much more information is available regarding the project. However, it’s been written by the duo Landes Echavarría and Duke Merriman, who have worked together in the past on the mentioned film titled Monos.
The film production company, Black Bear Pictures, known for creating movies like the Oscar-nominated Sing Sing and the horror film Immaculate featuring Sydney Sweeney, is involved in this venture.
Following a spectacular performance in Alex Garland’s Civil War last year, after taking a three-year hiatus following her award-nominated role in The Power of the Dog, Dunst now has multiple projects in progress. Among them is Derek Cianfrance’s crime drama Roofman, which boasts star-studded cast members such as Channing Tatum and LaKeith Stanfield.
A release window for Reptilia is yet to be confirmed.
