In a world without the thrilling adventures of “My Hero Academia” and “Jujutsu Kaisen”, Shonen Jump is in need of a new series to fill the void left on its manga pages. Regrettably, it seems that no single series will be able to take the place of Deku’s and Yuji Itadori’s adventures. This summer also marked the conclusion of “Kaiju No. 8”, leaving Shueisha’s lineup in a state of constant flux. Sadly, a recently released series within the publication has concluded this week, bringing an end to its romantic mystery shortly after its initial release in 2024. The departure of this series, which revolves around detective work, has left fans with a sense of nostalgia. With anime mysteries gaining popularity due to shows like “The Apothecary Diaries”, a detective-centered series has bid its adieus to the audience.
The comic series “Syd Craft: Love Is A Mystery,” created by Taishi Tsutsui, was first introduced in 2024 and features a unique detective who excels at his job despite having an amusing secret – he’s afraid of frightening situations and blood. This fearful detective is none other than Syd himself. With the release of the latest issue from Weekly Shonen Jump, Tsutsui’s manga has concluded after 28 chapters. Although this news might be disappointing for readers, it could also mean that the likelihood of “Syd Craft” being adapted into an anime has significantly decreased.

Syd Craft Hinted At Its Own End
In a way that won’t reveal any spoilers for readers who haven’t finished the series yet, it looks like the author of “Syd Craft: Love Is A Mystery” playfully hinted at more to come in the finale. As Syd solved the mystery that would be the manga’s conclusion, the villain subtly suggested there were additional plans for the storyline by saying, “I had a lot planned and intended to carry out my revenge gradually. But well done, detective. You figured it out faster than I anticipated.” Interestingly, not only does Syd solve the mystery, but it seems like our main character, Syd, has finally found the love he’s been searching for in the manga as well.
Love Is A Mystery, “Syd Craft is a brilliant detective, longing for romance, but all he seems to encounter are baffling cases!
Shueisha may have let go of some notable tales in recent times, but it continues to host significant narratives. Veteran series such as “One Piece,” “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations,” and “Black Clover” are still going strong with new releases, while emerging titles like “Kagurabachi,” “Sakamoto Days,” and “Ichi The Witch” are poised to take over the void left by completed stories.
