Ant Anstead is setting the record straight.
Following speculation that he and girlfriend Renée Zellweger were no longer living together, and rumors of his visits to a Laguna Beach home belonging to a woman named Julia French, an representative for Ant firmly dismissed these reports as both disrespectful and inaccurate.
The HGTV star spent only a few days in Julia French’s independent and secluded guesthouse, as his representative clarified in a statement to People. They have been acquainted for a long time, sharing a group of friends from Laguna Beach who are around the same age and have children together.
Though Ant’s days are mostly spent across the pond, working diligently in the U.K., and Renee is immersed in the vibrant cityscape of New York, filming “Only Murders in the Building”, their bond remains a cherished secret I hold close to my heart, one they’ve asked us all to respectfully preserve.
When I’m not working on the other side of the ocean or in the bustling city of New York, my partner and I, who started our relationship in 2021, typically savor life on the west coast.
In an interview with British Vogue in January, Renee shared that she resides in Southern California, close to San Diego, as her partner and his son are based there.
The child under discussion is Hudson, Ant’s 5-year-old son, who he had together with his former partner Christina Haack. It is worth mentioning that at 46 years old, Ant also has a daughter named Amelie, aged 21, and a son Archie, aged 18, from his previous relationship with Louise Anstead. In the past, Ant has spoken about his separation from Christina and moving on in his life following their divorce.
In an interview with TopMob News in 2021, he shared about his separation by saying, “Everyone has a decision to make, and mine was to either focus on the past or look ahead. As a person who always looks forward and maintains a positive outlook, I’m choosing the latter because there are so many wonderful opportunities coming my way.
Christina and Ant have no lingering animosity. In fact, they’ve collaborated together on HGTV’s ‘The Flip Off’, and Christina even gave a thumbs-up on Instagram when Ant complimented Renée for her role in ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’.
In a post on Instagram last February, Ant wrote: “This isn’t a rehearsal… TODAY IS THE DAY!” He also suggested that if you are in the U.S., you should check out @peacock to watch the most recent (and exceptionally impressive) adaptation of Bridget Jones. This heartfelt production is sure to resonate strongly with fans of Bridget, leaving them deeply touched!

Ant shared his enthusiasm for the launch of “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” by posting a photo of him brandishing a “Team Jones” sign proudly. In part of his February 13, 2025 message, he wrote, “It’s incredibly emotional and will resonate deeply with Bridget fans! I am astounded by Ren and her complete dedication. Prepare to be captivated…. x.
Despite not taking pictures together on the red carpet, Ant graced the premiere of Renee’s film “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” in London during January 2025. The event turned out to be a family gathering as he was accompanied by his two elder kids Amelie and Archie from a past relationship. To add, Ant also has a younger son Hudson with his ex-wife Christina Haack. On Instagram, Ant shared a post on Jan 31, 2025, stating, “Midweek movie night with the kiddos… The Movie was fantastic, and the lead actress was captivating and scorching hot (I’ve developed quite a crush on her!) I’ve informed my spouse that she’s my ‘hall pass’… X.” In response, Renee confirmed it was an extraordinary night. As Renee shared with TopMob News in February, “It was a fun evening for all of us.
In November 2024, when the trailer for “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” was released, Ant couldn’t help but praise Renee. He wrote on Instagram, “The wifey was shining this summer… she’s a Bridget Jones genius!”
He even playfully messaged Renee’s co-star Leo Woodall, saying, “Oh, and Leo… we need to have a quiet chat in a secluded spot… x”
However, it wasn’t just Ant who was expressing admiration. When an Instagram user reminisced about a past conversation with Renee and called it “one of the most treasured moments,” Ant replied, “I completely understand! She’s simply the best person I’ve ever encountered… x
Judy and the TV host joyfully marked the publication of Libby June Weintraub’s book, “She Was Born: Words on Loss and Liberation,” in a festive gathering that included the author herself, her husband Stephen Weintraub, in Los Angeles.
Ant shared this photo of the two kissing on their second anniversary in April 2023.
He also posted this pic of the couple walking hand in hand for the occasion.
And Ant called the milestone, “Two years of magic.”
Previously known as the host of Wheeler Dealers, he too posted this picture from a charming evening out with an Academy Award recipient. The caption read, “Always take time for enchanting moments illuminated by sparkling lights…

The two caught a flight out of Los Angeles together.
Ant shared this animated image of the pair sharing a sizzling kiss on Instagram.

Wow, looking back at memories, Ant posted on Instagram in April 2022 with a picture of him and Renée from Celebrity IOU: Joyride. Exactly one year ago! Sitting on the back of a fire engine during the last day of filming, I had just given two remarkable men a car as a token of gratitude from Ren. Incredible how much can change in just a year…
In response to dating speculations, they stepped out together publicly for the first time (not on any red carpet) in July, appearing on Anthony’s newly acquired oceanfront balcony in Laguna Beach, California.
They began dating not long after working together on Ant’s Discovery+ show titled “Celebrity IOU: Joyride.” At first, they preferred to keep their romantic involvement a secret.
In an interview with TopMob News in August 2021, Ant shared that people have come to realize that he and Renée have grown quite close because they had been keeping their relationship private for some time. Unfortunately, pictures of them surfaced and were made public. However, he found it a genuine pleasure to collaborate with her as she is extremely professional and skilled in welding.
