In the fascinating world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a multitude of peculiar and charming characters captivate hearts. Among them, none are more adored than Esquie, voiced exceptionally by Maxence Cazorla in both English and French versions of the game.

Fans’ affection for this lovable character is so intense that they clamor for a plush toy version straightaway, particularly since one can be found within the game if you search carefully within The Manor.

However, the enthusiasm for cuddling our beloved Esquie has led to several unauthorized parties producing counterfeit versions. While homemade crafts are usually appreciated in the gaming community, AI-generated artwork is not, and many of these fake merchandise are using AI to make a profit.

A website even registered ‘esquieplushie.com’ (a Reddit thread discusses this site, not the fraudulent one) with the intention of swindling fans of the game, falsely claiming to be an official store for Clair Obscur merchandise without linking back to the developer.

Sandfall Interactive warns fans from fakes and confirm they are working on their own merchandise.

It’s come to our attention that several questionable sites have emerged, offering Esquie plush toys for sale. Frankly, this gives us pause. To clarify: any websites other than the official ones are not authorized to sell Esquie plushies. These unauthorized sites often use AI-generated art to lure customers, and we strongly advise against buying from them.
