20-year-old Apple Martin, the child of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, disclosed her academic focus at Vanderbilt University – a choice that suggests she’s not strictly treading the same paths as her renowned parents.

As a student with a passion for law, history, and society, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my academic journey. Yet, there’s always been an unexplored interest that I’ve felt the need to nurture – the enchanting world of theater. In a candid interview with Interview magazine published on April 2, I shared this aspiration, hinting at the possibility of adding a theater course to my academic resume before I graduate. Balancing my diverse extracurricular activities with my major has been invigorating, and I believe that theater would offer a delightful counterpoint to my serious studies.

During her conversation, it was revealed that Apple, who’s currently in her junior year at a college in Nashville, acknowledged that theatrical performances and the movie “Legally Blonde” influenced her decisions regarding higher education.

Initially, the idea of becoming a lawyer appealed to her because she adored acting. However, feeling insecure and anxious, she thought that being a lawyer would provide opportunities for performance, such as courtroom scenes. She confessed that she naively believed this. Moreover, she admitted to fantasizing about emulating Elle Woods from the movie, but she soon realized it’s more challenging than it seems – she marveled at how Elle managed to attend law school every day while maintaining her fabulous style.

She mentioned that she has a fondness for both history and true crime, as well as delving into investigations. Moreover, she finds it intriguing to examine the historical evolution of law and apply it in today’s world. If given the opportunity, her primary goal as a lawyer would be to assist people, which seems to be her main motivation.

As I continue to navigate my new life in the spotlight, following my grand entrance at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes last November, I’ve managed to dip my toes into both the artistic realms of acting and music that my parents have graced. Recently, I’ve become a valued member of the Vanderbilt Original Cast cabaret theater group, marking another exciting step in my journey of embracing their creative legacies.

She expressed her enthusiasm for theater, stating that she has a strong affection for it. Although she hasn’t had any experience with films yet, she’s been striving to participate in student film projects. Essentially, theater is where she feels most at home and identifies herself as a theater enthusiast.

She has a knack for hitting the right notes, considering her father is, in fact, the lead vocalist of Coldplay. When discussing her singing abilities, she admits, “I have a deep voice, so when we’re harmonizing, it’s like ‘Alright, here are the boys and Apple.’ This semester, I’m thrilled to be performing my all-time favorite song. I may not be the best in the choir, but I genuinely enjoy it.

Meanwhile, Apple is embracing the campus atmosphere, her parents – who recently sent Moses, aged 18, to Brown University – are acutely conscious of the distinct experiences their kids will have while studying.

Gwyneth shared with Variety last month that she vividly remembered Apple’s college move-in day, sensing the atmosphere and feeling the gaze of others.

The Academy Award winner stated, “Observe, they’re offspring of two highly renowned figures. Consequently, they grasp the implications that come with such status. They’ve been nurtured within it.” He went on to express how genuinely charming, humble, and grounded they are.
