They also praised Billy Crystal’s lead performance, acknowledging his versatility despite being renowned for his comedic work, as “Before” provided a platform for him to display additional talents. While interacting with a distressed young lad named Noah (Jacobi Jupe), he senses an eerie link to his own past. As Eli endeavors to assist Noah, their enigmatic connection intensifies, stirring haunting recollections and uncovering disturbing truths about the past. The supporting cast includes Rosie Perez, Maria Dizzia, and Ava Lalezarzadeh.

I wouldn’t categorize her as haunting him; instead, he is grappling with memories of her that are so vivid and authentic that the experience for him feels undeniably real. From his viewpoint, it may appear as if she’s haunting him, but in reality, it’s not. In fact, he seems to be inviting or summoning her into his presence.
Despite the fact that many people know Crystal for her comedic performances, Thorp deliberately incorporated elements from renowned psychological thrillers to ensure that “Before” would not be mistaken as a simple comedy.
As a movie enthusiast delving into the world of this intriguing series, I found myself reflecting on an unexpected connection as we progressed deeper into the storyline. When Billy’s character began to spiral, it sparked memories of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece, “The Shining.
