Apple TV’s Best Sci-Fi Show’s New Trailer Shows Game of Thrones Fav as New Villain

In the upcoming third season of ‘Foundation’, the crumbling Galactic Empire faces a new, enigmatic menace, portrayed by ‘Game of Thrones‘ actor Pilou Asbæk. Known for his role as the cunning pirate Euron Greyjoy, Asbæk will assume the character of The Mule in this series. Similar to his previous character, The Mule is expected to exploit a minor advantage amidst dire circumstances for personal gain, though the specifics of his powers may differ from the source material. With anticipation running high among fans, ‘Foundation’ Season 3 is set to debut on Apple TV+ this coming Friday, July 11th.

The television series “Foundation,” based on Isaac Asimov’s science fiction novel series with the same title, includes seven books in total. By the end of the second book, “The Mule” emerges as a significant central figure; however, the show has significantly altered the original story and characters. It remains to be seen what impact these changes might have on Season 3.

It’s fortunate that the changes made to the show appear to have strengthened its narrative thus far, and it seems this trend will continue in Season 3. Lee Pace reprises his role as the eternal galactic Emperor Cleon, while Lou Llobell returns as Gaal Dornick, the time-traveling psychohistorian. Jared Harris is set to appear once more as Hari Seldon, the creator of the Foundation, and Laura Birn will be back playing Demerzel, the emperor’s robotic aide.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that Apple TV+ reveals that Season 3 of “Foundation” unfolds 152 years after the events of Season 2. At this point, The Foundation has gained significant power and influence, while the Empire finds itself severely weakened. The interim is ripe with chaos, and in this turmoil, we encounter a formidable warlord, known as The Mule. His enigmatic mind control abilities pose a grave threat to tranquility, forcing the Empire and The Foundation to join forces uneasily in an effort to counter this looming menace.

This adaptation significantly deviates from the initial novels, yet it’s suitable given that the series has developed the Empire into a captivating and central aspect of the narrative. Moreover, it smartly exploits one of Asimov’s most thrilling storylines, although the show has been adept at maintaining tension and excitement on its own.

🤓 Excitedly, I can’t wait for me to dive back into the captivating world of Foundation when Season 3 premieres on Apple TV+ this Friday, July 11th! If you haven’t caught up yet, previous seasons are already streaming there now. And if you prefer reading Asimov’s original novels, they’re available in print, digital, and audiobook formats for your convenience. 🚀📚🎧
