Apr 2025 USA Sales: PS5 Ports Award Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones Huge Boosts

Due to the latest releases of Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on the PS5, sales of these games have surged significantly across the United States, according to fresh data from Circana.

In April 2025, Forza Horizon 5 ranked as the second most popular game sold, with Oblivion Remastered taking the top spot. A month earlier, it was the 42nd best-selling title. Conversely, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle placed sixth in sales last month, but before its PS5 release, it was the 118th most popular game.

Showcasing the reason behind Microsoft’s choice to venture into multiple platforms, Forza Horizon 5 was launched on April 29th. This rapid success is noteworthy because it managed to sell over a million copies on PlayStation 5 within just two days of its release in the same month. Latest updates indicate that as of May 5th, the game had sold approximately 1.2 million units on PlayStation 5.

It’s also suggested that Indiana Jones is selling more quickly on PlayStation 5 compared to Xbox Series X|S. The significant role of the Game Pass subscription service likely contributes to fewer sales on Xbox consoles due to this service offering the game at no additional cost for subscribers.

In the U.S., during April 2025, Oblivion Remastered outperformed the original Xbox 360 and PS3 versions in terms of sales within their first 15 months. It claimed the top spot on the charts. Meanwhile, the second season of The Last of Us on HBO seems to have positively impacted the sales of The Last of Us Part 2, as it climbed up from its 23rd position to the 13th.

In April 2025, the game that was the top seller in March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, fell to the fifth position, and Monster Hunter Wilds moved down to number 11 on the sales chart.

During late April, Expedition 33 was set into motion; however, the Clair Obscur game does not show up in any sales figures that have been documented. In relation to this matter, analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana made the following statement:
