As a seasoned survivor of countless post-apocalyptic wastelands, I’ve seen my fair share of Arc machines and their destructive capabilities. The latest sneak peek into ARC Raiders has piqued my interest, especially with its emphasis on teamwork and survival in the treacherous Buried City.
Approximately three years following its initial announcement, Embark Studios has finally revealed gameplay footage for their title ARC Raiders. The footage depicts three characters exploring the Buried City within the Rust Belt to unearth a seed vault. Have a look at it below, but keep in mind that this video is from an October tech test and is still under development.
ARC Raiders is an action game that combines player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) combat, set in a post-apocalyptic world. You start by emerging from underground tunnels onto the surface, where lethal Arc machines are freely roaming. The environment features varying levels of Arc machine presence, but beware, other players can also pose a threat. While teaming up with others is possible, they could just as easily attack you.
Similar to numerous loot gatherers, perishing results in losing all items amassed. There’s a strong motivation to assault other players for their possessions, yet equally compelling reasons to stay hidden and evade conflicts. The concluding segment of the trailer also showcases some of the bigger Arc machines you’ll encounter while traversing the Rust Belt.
2025 marks the release of ARC Raiders on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders now open for wishlists. Previously planned as a free-to-play game, it is now available for purchase at a price point of $39.99.
