In a fresh series of arcade game revivals called Arcade Archives 2, Hamster is set to debut the initial title, Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer, on both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Coinciding with this release, Arcade Archives Ridge Racer will also be accessible for PlayStation 4 users on the same day.
Here is an overview of the game, via Hamster:
Apart from the “Original Mode,” “High Score Mode,” and “Caravan Mode” found in the Arcade Archives series, the upcoming game Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer will introduce a fresh element called “Time Attack Mode.
In “Speed Run” or “Quick Play” mode, your goal is to finish the game as swiftly as possible, with the fastest completion time being the ultimate benchmark, irrespective of the points scored.
Additionally, functionality has been significantly enhanced.
Instead of a single save point, multiple options have been added, plus a rewind function for players to try again after a tough challenge, and a fast-forward option for immediate gameplay immersion.
Additionally, we’ve included Virtual Reality and Rec Room (VRR) technology, providing a more authentic replication of the classic arcade game feel.
Delve into timeless arcade hits that shaped their epoch, now boasting enhanced fun and improved usability in the updated version called “Arcade Archives 2“.
Ridge Racer is a racing game released by NAMCO (Bandai Namco Entertainment) in 1993.
Immerse yourself in the world of virtual reality through System 22’s 3D CG system. This game comes with four different modes, such as Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Time Trial (T.T.), where you race against a rival car to set the best time. Furthermore, it includes a DX version that supports H-shifter and clutch control for an enhanced gaming experience.
