In a private conversation with TopMob News, Ariel shared, “We have a deep affection for one another. It’s truly remarkable when you consider that we spend so much time together, we genuinely feel like a close-knit family.
Even though filming for ABC’s popular series ended as far back as 2020, the strong bond and chemistry among the Dunphy family members remains evident in their real-life interactions.
At the fourth Annual Legacy Ball held on October 5, the 26-year-old recipient of the Legacy Award was accompanied by her longtime boyfriend, Luke Benward, who was there with her costar, Nolan Gould. For over a decade, Ariel and Nolan portrayed brother and sister on TV, but their relationship extends beyond the confines of the small screen.
As the actress who portrayed brainy Alex for eleven seasons, I proudly declare, “He is my brother.” Our bond began when he was ten and I was eleven, making him my first best friend – a connection that’s truly special. Over the years, we’ve shared countless life experiences together and weathered both thick and thin. We remain close to this day.

Despite maintaining regular contact with the whole Dunphy crew, the actress of Sofia the First admitted that apart from Nolan, she interacts with Eric the most often because they collaborate frequently on the charity event Big Slick, which raises funds for pediatric cancer.
But with everyone leading different lives, it’s gotten more difficult to catch up in recent years.
She clarified, “The challenge is finding a moment when we both have time and happen to be at the same location. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to align often as everyone is quite occupied.
Additionally, distance played a role too. In 2022, Ariel faced a challenging choice and decided to relocate from California.
Ariel shared with TopMob that L.A. never seemed like the right fit for her, but she was hesitant,” Ariel said. “But then this chance came along, and I realized, I’m going through a phase of transformation, and I’m really focusing on healing, growing, and evolving. It’s broadened my horizons quite a bit.
However, the decision brings a mix of joy and sorrow. On one hand, it has undeniably fostered progress for Ariel; on the other, she finds herself yearning for her past colleagues.
After spending over a decade working closely with someone nearly every day, it suddenly feels like they’ve vanished,” she explained. “Now everyone is scattered around, so we make an effort to stay connected and communicate regularly.
