This aspect made the experience more fulfilling for me. Additionally, I didn’t know that Palpatine would wield a weapon, so discovering his skill with a lightsaber was intriguing. To be fair, I must acknowledge the excellent work of my stunt double in handling the saber.

In the Star Wars prequels, Palpatine operates as the hidden puppet master, meticulously orchestrating his scheme to demolish the Galactic Republic and seize the throne as Emperor. His plan is so intricate and deceptive that no one suspects him, thereby allowing him to subtly manipulate others into carrying out his necessary actions rather than taking direct action himself in the films.

Ultimately, the concluding movie manages to seamlessly tie up all the threads, enabling the gradual buildup of political tension – even the contentious trade disagreements – to coalesce effectively and surprisingly effectively.

However, “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” does contain a notable scene featuring Darth Plagueis, which I believe is the most impressive in the Prequel Trilogy. Ian McDiarmid delivers an outstanding performance in this scene, skillfully influencing Anakin Skywalker, potentially exerting more power to turn him towards the Dark Side through their conversation than any other event.

McDiarmid’s observation is valid, as he noted the Emperor engaging in a lightsaber duel, an unexpected scene for many viewers but one that fits nicely. If we consider mastery of a lightsaber not just a matter of physical skill but also Force aptitude, there’s no reason Palpatine couldn’t be proficient with it. However, it appears McDiarmid opted out of intensive lightsaber training, instead entrusting the skill to his stunt double.

Based on the massive turnout at the re-release of Revenge of the Sith, which became one of the most profitable re-releases ever, it’s clear that many viewers still find the film incredibly enjoyable.
