Assassin’s Creed Mirage is Coming to Steam in October

As a seasoned Assassin’s Creed enthusiast with decades of virtual assassinations under my belt, I must say that the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage has me brimming with anticipation. Having traversed the ancient worlds of Egypt, Greece, and even the Vikings’ icy realms, the return to a more stealth-focused gameplay style is like slipping back into a well-worn pair of Hidden Ones robes.

This month on Steam, Ubisoft is introducing another popular game, “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” instead of “Star Wars Outlaws” which comes out in November. Set in ninth-century Baghdad and released in October 2023, this title follows the character Basim, who transitions from a common thief to an assassin for the Hidden Ones.

Instead of the expansive landscapes found in games such as “Origins”, “Odyssey”, and “Valhalla”, “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” resembles its earlier counterparts by emphasizing a stealth-oriented gameplay style. Characters like Basim can move swiftly across rooftops, mingle seamlessly with the population, and dispatch targets using the iconic Hidden Blade. The city in this installment is also more compact, comprising just four distinct districts to discover.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (through Ubisoft Connect, the Epic Games Store), and also on iOS devices. Take a look at our review of the core game. As of January 31st, it’s been played by over five million people and has received several updates such as New Game Plus and Permadeath.

It appears that Ubisoft Bordeaux isn’t planning to provide any additional DLC or expansions, but they are reportedly developing another installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. For further information, please follow this link, and keep an eye out for the release date of the Steam version.
