As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that Ubisoft’s recent decisions regarding Assassin’s Creed Shadows have left me both intrigued and somewhat puzzled. The cancellation of the Season Pass and advance access is certainly a refreshing change, leveling the playing field for all gamers, but the sudden surge in the Collector’s Edition price has left me scratching my head.


Due to a shift in release date for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” to next year, Ubisoft has significantly altered their approach towards the upcoming open-world game. They have scrapped the Season Pass, meaning that all pre-orders will receive the initial expansion at no extra cost. Additionally, advanced access has been eliminated, ensuring that every player can play the title on the same day it’s launched.

These modifications have influenced the Collector’s Edition as well. In a recent Q&A on Discord (shared via Reddit), it was revealed that while the content largely remains as previously advertised, there may be alterations to design aspects. The physical items included are:

Besides the cancellation of the Season Pass, players can still look forward to receiving digital content such as the Sekiryu Dual Pack, Sekiryu Hideout Pack, and five Mastery Points. It’s important to note that there has been a price adjustment for the Collector’s Edition, now priced at $229.99/239.99€ on consoles and 229.99€/$229.99 on PC.
