Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC Length Reportedly Revealed

The latest news about the delay in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows sparked dissatisfaction among fans, but many still trust that the additional time is being used to improve the game. Since its announcement, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been beset by problems and controversy, but Ubisoft has been diligently trying to alleviate fan concerns. The team at Ubisoft is overhauling and refining numerous aspects of the game, such as combat and parkour, and have been unveiling these updates prior to its release date. Recently, there appears to be a new tidbit about Assassin’s Creed Shadows‘ post-launch content that has fans eagerly anticipating the game.

It’s been reported that the Claws of Awaji will serve as the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, offering at least ten hours of gameplay. The main storyline for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is projected to last between 30 and 60 hours, depending on your playstyle, but this time can significantly increase if players aim to complete all additional quests and gather all collectibles hidden throughout the map. Known for its abundance of side missions and scattered collectables, the series aims to extend gameplay duration.

In Claws of Awaji, the upcoming DLC, players can anticipate a substantial expansion offering more stories, collectibles, and potentially new locations. Ubisoft has hinted at incorporating a multiplayer mode, though details are scarce as to whether it will be a separate feature or part of a future DLC. It’s also unclear if the co-op functionality will be limited to the base game or extended to the DLC as well.

In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows“, for the first time in the series, players have access to two main characters, Yasuke and Naoe. Unlike previous titles such as “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” and “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla“, which allowed players to pick between a male or female protagonist, in “Assassin’s Creed Shadows“, you can play as both. Yasuke is a samurai, while Naoe takes on the role of a shinobi. Each character has distinct playing styles, and in this game, players are free to decide which character they want to use for each mission in “Assassin’s Creed Shadows“.

Despite an approximate size of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” the developer has clarified that its map will not match the expansiveness of “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.” With excessive bulk being a recurring issue in recent “Assassin’s Creed” titles, players are optimistic that this won’t be an issue for “Assassins’ Creed Shadows.” Although it may not be as brief or straightforward as “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” it appears to have a more concentrated narrative.

The game titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is scheduled for release on March 20, 2025, though there’s a possibility Ubisoft might postpone it again. As of now, no specific dates have been announced for the DLC or the anticipated co-op mode. Patience is required as players must wait a while longer to explore feudal Japan with characters Naoe and Yasuke. Fans remain optimistic that the additional time spent on refining and enhancing “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” will prove worthwhile.
