Assassin’s Creed Shadows Hopes to “Change the Narrative” Around Ubisoft’s “Inconsistency in Quality,” Series Boss Says

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen the highs and lows of the gaming industry. Ubisoft, once a powerhouse of creativity and innovation, has stumbled in recent years, releasing games that have left many of us disappointed. However, their upcoming release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, holds a glimmer of hope for change.

In recent times, Ubisoft has put out several high-profile games like “Skull and Bones” and “Star Wars Outlaws”, as well as “Ghost Recon Breakpoint” and “Rainbow Six Extraction”. Some of these releases have not lived up to expectations for many people. However, Ubisoft is optimistic about a turnaround with the upcoming title, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”.

As a devoted fan, I’ve got some news about the upcoming Action RPG from Assassin’s Creed. It seems there’s been a slight shift in its release schedule, pushing it back into February next year. The man behind the franchise at Ubisoft, Marc-Alexis Coté, has shared that this delay is aimed at helping the game potentially alter the storyline surrounding Ubisoft’s occasional inconsistencies in production.

At a recent BAFTA gathering in London, as reported by Eurogamer, Cote stated that players today have the luxury of being choosy and selecting only top-tier games, and they are justified in expecting superior quality. However, Ubisoft’s collection has received criticism lately for seeming unevenness in the quality of their offerings.

Players demand higher quality, fresh ideas, and immersive experiences in the games we produce, and they aren’t afraid to voice their opinions if they think we haven’t met the mark. This dynamic drives us to strive for improvement and excellence.

In “Assassin’s Creed: Shadow’s” case, we have the chance to rewrite the storyline not only for the Assassin’s Creed series but potentially for Ubisoft as well.

Ubisoft confirmed that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is now fully-featured, with the game’s release being delayed to provide more time for fine-tuning. When it launches next year, you can expect to find it on Steam on day one. Interestingly, Ubisoft has also abandoned its Season Pass scheme, resulting in a reduced price for the Collector’s Edition.

The release of ‘Assassin’s Creed: Shadows’ has been set for February 14, 2025, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers. Ubisoft is optimistic that this game won’t experience any further delays.
