Ubisoft has indicated that advance orders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are “strong”, with sales comparable to those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the second highest-grossing game in the series. Although they didn’t provide specific details, they are currently tracking similarly to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Those who pre-order will receive the Claws of Awaji expansion at a later date, and with over 10 hours of content, it certainly seems appealing.
Today (thanks to Eurogamer), Ubisoft leader Yves Guillemot expressed a positive outlook about the company’s future: “I would like to praise the outstanding skill and commitment of the entire Assassin’s Creed team, who are putting in immense effort to make Shadows live up to the promise of the franchise’s most ambitious installment yet. At the same time, we are making good progress on our cost reduction plan.
Enthusiasts of top-tier video games find ourselves eagerly supporting Ubisoft, even acknowledging that Shadows seems crucial for their success as a company. However, optimism abounds, as the more we preview (and having had hands-on experience), the stronger our belief becomes that the Assassin’s Creed series will go down fighting rather than fading away.
