Following a wave of criticism due to certain games being impacted by the Windows 11 24H2 update, Ubisoft has now rolled out updates for both Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla to address this problem.
These updates, roughly sized at 230 MB for ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’ and 500 MB for ‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’, respectively, bring their versions to 1.62 and 1.7.0. Neither update introduces new features; instead, they are designed specifically to address compatibility issues between the games and the Windows 11 24H2 operating system.
Due to compatibility problems, both game titles have been receiving numerous complaints from PC gamers. Consequently, these disgruntled players have left negative reviews on Steam, which in turn led to a phenomenon known as “review bombing.” The issue became so significant that the overall rating for Assassin’s Creed Origins recently plummeted from “Very Positive” to “Mixed” earlier this month.
Remarkably, it seems that other games from Ubisoft, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws, which are encountering similar problems, haven’t received updates to rectify these issues yet. It’s plausible that Ubisoft is busy working on releasing the necessary updates for these games at the earliest opportunity.
Initially released for Windows 11 in November, the 24H2 update predominantly aimed to enhance performance for many games based on a user’s system specifications. However, certain Ubisoft games experienced unusual issues, leading to crashes and significant decreases in performance.
