As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I have played countless hours on various platforms and genres. The gaming industry has evolved significantly since I started, and I’ve witnessed the release of many groundbreaking titles. With that being said, I was intrigued when I first heard about Astro Bot, the new PlayStation 5 exclusive developed by Team Asobi.
Before its release in about two months, Team Asobi has shared information on the completion time for “Astro Bot.” During May’s State of Play event, PlayStation introduced “Astro Bot” as a separate game with many similarities to the gameplay in “Astro’s Playroom,” which is included with the PlayStation 5. Ever since then, fans have been curious about the size of “Astro Bot,” as “Astro’s Playroom” was quite short. Now, we have a better understanding of this aspect.
During a chat with YouTuber Julien Chizy, Nicolas Doucet, the creative director of Astro Bot, discussed the game’s length and estimated playing time. He acknowledged that completion depends on players’ choices and exploration styles. However, Doucet mentioned that Astro Bot, an exclusive for PlayStation 5, would be relatively shorter than average games, with a total playtime of around 12 to 15 hours.
Currently, Astro Bot from PlayStation hasn’t shared many new details following its initial unveiling. The game appears to be reminiscent of Astro’s Playroom and primarily features platforming gameplay. Additionally, it will include numerous beloved PlayStation characters transformed into Astro Bot forms hailing from franchises like Uncharted, Bloodborne, God of War, among others. These characters populate the game’s various planets that can be accessed via a ship resembling the PS5.
As a long-time PlayStation gamer, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming release of Astro Bot on September 6, 2024. Having played and loved Astro Bot Rescue Mission on PlayStation VR, I’m excited to explore new levels and challenges in this innovative platformer game.
