Atomfall finally fixes the audio bug that almost made me quit

On March 27th, Atomfall was released and I joined the fun on its first day via Xbox Game Pass. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to frustration as I stumbled upon an annoying audio glitch on Xbox from the get-go.

I found a way to alleviate the issue temporarily, but it wasn’t entirely satisfactory. Despite this, I had to force quit (or ‘reset’) the game several times throughout my playtime just to restore sound. If you too paused your gaming due to this snag, here’s some positive news: the bug has been rectified!

“An update is now available which addresses the audio outage issue in Atomfall”

The problem, which involved audio interruptions when the game was auto-saving or entering a bunker, has been fixed in today’s update. Rebellion’s official website provides minimal information, merely announcing:

10th April 2025 – Hotfix

  • Resolved issues with audio dropping out

On social media, Atomfall’s official accounts added, “We continue to work on future updates.”

Better late than never I guess?

Honestly speaking, the glitch in this game significantly diminished my enjoyment, particularly when it interrupted a critical closing moment. Multiple times, I considered abandoning the game altogether, fearing that if I did, I might not come back. However, I was captivated by the game’s rich storyline, its unique local setting, and surprisingly, its knack for making me yearn for Cornish pasties. Atomfall is filled with intrigue, but it’s a pity that it launched with such a bothersome bug on Xbox.

Even though there are still uncertainties, I remain hopeful about what lies ahead. Without a doubt, I’ll be back for the DLC, eagerly waiting to discover where this intriguing new intellectual property developed by Rebellion will lead us.
