Atomfall hits 2 million players and 500K cups of tea drunk

The survival-style shooter game Atomfall has attracted over two million gamers to its post-nuclear-disaster Britain setting, and it seems they’ve consumed approximately half a million cups of tea. That’s not nearly enough. To reach an average British tea consumption rate, we need about three cups per person – that’s 6 million cups in total! So, gamers, let’s increase those numbers!

Developer Atomfall recently disclosed statistics from its initial two weeks following launch, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that 60% of players aided a destitute injured scientist. However, I was not only disheartened by the tea consumption figures, but also puzzled as to why the scrumptious pastry ended up third on the list of consumed foods. What’s going on here? Don’t you realize that the pasty is readily available for your enjoyment instead of opting for canned meat?

It’s great that the total number of kills attributed to cricket bats exceeds 5.9 million, which seems fitting in this context. To be honest, I don’t have any specific data for this (unlike my tea comparison), but it somehow feels appropriate. Have a cup of tea and imagine a man being hit with a wooden bat. Keep it simple!

The recently revealed data serves as an update to Rebellion’s earlier announcement that Atomfall surpassed 1.5 million players. This remarkable achievement marked the most successful game debut in Rebellion’s 32-year career, which is quite impressive for the venerable Zombie Army and Sniper Elite development team.

In the PC Gamer review, Atomfall received a score of 62%, as noted by reviewer Fraser Brown. He mentioned that the game has a tendency to blend elements from Fallout, Stalker, RPGs, survival games, and various other systems, resulting in a diverse gaming experience that can sometimes be confusing due to its many divergent pulls.

After traversing harsh, unforgiving wastelands for countless years, the welcoming atmosphere of Atomfall post-apocalypse is particularly appealing. Here they offer tea, and even bakeries, making it a tempting destination for a leisurely stroll. However, one must be cautious as there are fire-emitting robots, deadly plants, bandits, cultists, and intricate conspiracies lurking around.
