Attack on Titan Creator Recommends MMA Manga

As a long-time fan of the anime world, I must say that the news about “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” has me absolutely thrilled! After the emotional rollercoaster that was the final season, I can’t wait to revisit those moments in the cinema. It’s fascinating to hear from Yuichiro Hayashi himself about how the final episodes were originally intended for a movie format.

As a diehard Attack on Titan fan, I can’t help but share some exciting news even though the main series has ended. While we bid farewell to the anime adaptation with its final episode, get ready for more Titan action with “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” in theaters! This movie is a recap of the thrilling final episodes featuring the Scout Regiment and Eren Jaeger. Though it’s not exactly new content, Studio MAPPA has promised an updated animation style to give it a fresh look. Even though creator Hajime Isayama is enjoying his well-deserved retirement, he’s still recommending other great works in the manga world, such as a lesser-known MMA manga.

In addition to releasing the latest trailer for the film “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack,” the series director Yuichiro Hayashi shared insights about the reasoning behind the compilation film. Originally, he sketched out the storyboards for what was intended to be a standalone movie, “The Final Chapters.” For him, it’s a dream come true that people can now watch it in the ideal setting, the theater. The movie is set to premiere in Japan on November 8th, although a North American release date has yet to be announced.

What is The Unbeatable Duo?

Unlike popular boxing anime series like Hajime No Ippo and Megalobox, there hasn’t been much focus on Mixed Martial Arts in the world of anime. This year, however, creator Hiroki Endo introduced a fresh perspective with his manga, The Unbeatable Duo – Muhai No Futari. The story revolves around a young protagonist who aspires to excel in mixed martial arts through the guidance of a once-legendary trainer. Despite having keen insight, this aspiring fighter’s physical prowess pales in comparison. Unfortunately for him, his mentor has fallen from grace and now struggles with alcoholism. The unlikely duo aims to reach new heights together.

It seems Hajime Isayama may have revisited the world of “Attack on Titan” with the short story focusing on Levi called “Bad Boy”. However, the creator of the series has no intentions at this time to produce a new sequel for the Scout Regiment’s narrative. Despite taking a well-deserved retirement after dedicating years to “Attack on Titan”, it’s evident that Isayama remains immersed in the manga universe.
