As a die-hard fan of Attack on Titan since its inception, I can confidently say that watching The Last Attack was an exhilarating and emotional rollercoaster ride! The extended run time allowed me to immerse myself even deeper into the world of Eldia, and witnessing the final confrontation between the Scouts and Eren on the big screen was truly awe-inspiring.
The first movie based on “Attack on Titan” could be a collection of the final episodes from the anime series. However, this doesn’t dampen the enthusiasm of anime fans who are flocking to watch the Scout Regiment’s “Last Attack” in cinemas. Since there seems to be no upcoming sequel or spin-off anime project at the moment, this might be one of the last opportunities for viewers to witness new content from the Survey Corps. Even though the film has been out in Japan for three weeks now, it continues to perform well at the box office, fueling speculation about a potential US release.
“Attack on Titan: The Final Battle” boasts an impressive runtime of 145 minutes, combining the third and fourth segments of the final season’s television series. Without a doubt, if any part of the “Attack on Titan” anime deserved to be viewed on the largest screen imaginable, it is undoubtedly the climactic showdown between the Scouts and Eren Jaeger. While the final battle surely draws fans to cinemas for “The Final Battle”, there are other elements that have Japanese viewers flocking to theaters as well. Enhanced animation and a fresh post-credits scene offering a unique perspective on Eren, Armin, and Mikasa are among these additional attractions.

Attack on Titan: A Rumbling At The Box Office
As a movie reviewer, I’m excited to share my thoughts on “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” after its third weekend in Japanese cinemas. Despite facing stiff competition, it held strong, landing in second place. With over $5 million USD earned so far, this is quite impressive for a compilation film.
The screening duration for the live-action “Attack on Titan” finale, titled “The Last Attack,” has been extended to commemorate its success. Thanks to all of your support, this extension is made possible. Those who haven’t seen it yet are encouraged to catch it in theaters and enjoy “Attack on Titan” at this opportunity…

The Era of Compilation Films
The business of anime compilation movies is growing significantly, a trend that was boosted by the popular “Demon Slayer” series. After the release of “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train,” the largest anime film ever made, the shonen franchise started combining episodes to produce movies using footage from the TV show. Titles such as “Demon Slayer: To The Swordsmith Village” and “Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training” not only collected season finales but also allowed anime enthusiasts a sneak peek at upcoming episodes before they were broadcast on television.
Apart from “Attack on Titan,” several other popular franchises like “Solo Leveling,” “Bocchi The Rock,” “Kaiju No. 8,” “DandaDan,” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” are jumping on the bandwagon of compilation movies. Some of these films have been released in Japan, while others are heading to North America. Given the success of the Scout Regiment story, it’s likely that “The Last Attack” will reach Western audiences eventually. However, it remains uncertain if “Attack on Titan” will experience the same box office success in the United States as it did in Japan.
